Community Connections Events
Important Reminders
- Parents - CC Events are not drop-off nor are the CC staff responsible for supervising students at these events. Parents are responsible for providing supervision of their children for every Community Connection activity, event and field trip.
- Nut Aware - Please be aware we may have students with allergies - please bring nut-free snacks and food with you.
- Sick Children - We know no one wants to miss our gatherings, but keeping ill students at home protects everyone, including those with fragile immune systems. Thank you for not spreading germs.

Inspire Charter School Film Club
Our Purpose The purpose of this club is to bring together high school students that have an interest in film. We will watch films together and share film critique as well as discuss cinematic techniques used. We will apply what we learn to create group film projects that we may choose to enter into student film festivals.
Who Any Inspire high school student that has an interest or passion for film.
Monthly Meetup The first Tuesday of every month, the group will meetup to watch a predetermined movie together at The SMG Theater in Glendale. The SMG Theater has $5 movie Tuesdays. That way the group can watch professional directing, cinematography, and editing. We will analyze the cinema techniques utilized and observe different camera shots, lighting, mise-en-scene, plot breakdowns, and character development.
Group Films Either online or in person, we would bounce ideas off each other to come up with a concept for a film. If a member of the group already has an idea, then they can pitch their ideas to the rest of the group. Not everyone has to be apart of every project. Multiple projects can be filmed at one time. Group members will decide on positions, and we can rotate with each project. Everybody involved with the film will work together to get the film written. The group has to make sure that it has a good story and character. Any Inspire students can audition to be in the films. If the group feels they need more people, then they are more than welcome to bring friends and family to help as crew or cast.
Screenings After the film is written, filmed, and edited, then it will be available to watch at the Monthly screening. At the monthly screening, then every film made in the month will be shown off to the other members, along with any friends and family that wish to see.
Film Festivals After the films are made, the group will decide if any are good enough to enter into student film festivals, and if so, which ones.
