Our 7th graders have completed their Texas History projects. Students were asked to create a model of the Alamo, create a flag, and write an essay explaining their projects. These were some of the most impressive products by our historians. Good job!

Our varsity football team is moving on to the next round. They will play Grandview Friday night at 7pm in Royse City. The high school will host another pep rally for the whole district this Friday.

Monday: Thank a teacher: write a note, send a clever.com message, or send an email!

Tuesday: Thank a food nutritionist: Thank them for providing food for students and staff!

Wednesday: Thank a custodial worker! Ours are the best! Find Ms. Kay, Ms. Rita, Ms. Pam, or Mr. Bradley and tell them thanks for keeping our school so clean and happy!

Thursday: Thank office and library personnel! They keep our school flowing!

Friday: Thank a bus driver! We are thankful they get you to school and home daily!

6th-8th grade: Reading will continue analyzing informational texts. AR cut-off is December 10th. Make sure you're reading on your level to get your points!

7th grade: We will have a mid-unit 3 test on informational text. Also, they have vocabulary words they can be studying: informational text, controlling idea/thesis, key ideas, summarize, paraphrase, and supporting details.

8th grade: ELAR will complete their surveys for college and career paths.

6th grade: We have wrapped up another unit and we can see growth is definitely happening with our kiddos! Unit 4 test is Wednesday. We are reviewing Monday and Tuesday. Thursday will be test correction day, and there are due Friday since we will be out for a week. That means they might have homework Thursday night.

Check-in with your kids on Thursday for Skill Builder #12, as well (just in case it's not completed). Those are due Friday of every week.

8th grade: Students have a weekly assignment and a word problem they are given every Friday that's due the following Thursday. They have a week to work on 20 problems and a word problem. This is their weekly homework! Please check with your student throughout the week to make sure they are getting this assignment completed.

There will be a test on Monday over the unit they have just completed. Notes, test review, and test corrections are available in Google Classroom.

This Friday will mark the end of our 6 weeks in this 9 week grading period. Make sure to be checking Parent Portal for grades. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teachers.
