Special Update
It has been a great beginning to the second semester. Students were happy and excited to be back with their friends yesterday! We hope the break was relaxing for everyone.
It feels like so much has changed since we left in December. We wanted to make sure you were aware of a few updates in regards to COVID protocols.
Even though the CDC shortened the quarantine requirements, the state has not changed them for schools. We will continue with our 7-14 day quarantine, depending on the situation.
If your child tests positive or has been exposed, please complete the form on the district website and someone will contact you about a return date. This form is very important because it helps us document attendance so a student will not have unexcused absences. Teachers will gather work so that students can work at home during this time. www.sdale.org/page/covid
Test-to-Stay is still an option if your child is exposed at school. When we contact you about a possible exposure, we will review your options. However, Test-to-Stay is not an option for household exposures/outside-of-school exposures.
We are continuing to sanitize surfaces and hands at school all day. Water fountains will remain off, but water bottle filling stations are available.
Masks are still optional but highly encouraged. Please make sure you are regularly having conversations with your children if you expect them to wear a mask at school.
We want students to be at school every day. However, if they are experiencing COVID-like symptoms, please use caution before sending them to school. If they are running a fever, please make sure they are fever-free for 48 hours before returning to the campus. If you have questions, please reach out to Nurse Glenda (750-8771).
We are seeing a surge in COVID cases and expect numbers to go up even more in the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we do our best to keep your students safe and educate them to high levels!
