Congrats to Pointer Ally Baehler for culminating her gymnastics season at the WIAA State Meet Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids! Ally finished 22nd on balance beam and teammate Brooklyn Murphy finished 13th on floor exercise. Great year!

Regional Champs again! Congrats to our #PointerNation Boys Basketball team on its 65-51 win Saturday at Bangor in the WIAA Regional Final! Next up will be the Sectional Semifinal at Lancaster Thursday vs. Onalaska Luther as the Knights defeated Cuba City 87-64. Keep it going, Pointers!

Our 4th graders had a great trip to the Wisconsin State Capitol last week -- thanks for the warm welcome Representative Todd Novak!

Our Middle School's Kindness Club is promoting and creating a culture of kindness in our school. Each week we will be giving a 'shoutout' to students caught being kind. Congrats to Graysen Galle! Graysen is always willing to help others stay organized and caught up on work, even if that means that she loses work time herself.

Liam Stumpf, a recent graduate of Mineral Point, came to speak to our Leadership 1 class about how failures can become failures, or how failures can become success. He spoke about his personal challenges in recent years and how he has been able to learn from them to become a better version of himself. Liam was very appreciative of his time at Mineral Point and the opportunities, like Leadership class, which helped him navigate through his life the last few years. He also stated that only you are the driver of your bus and to make sure you have the right passengers on board to support you. His family has been his #1 support group. He currently is attending Madison College and pitching for their baseball team. He continues to focus on his dream of playing major league baseball.

Mrs. Radtke's 2nd graders enjoyed learning about our country's Presidents recently!

Congrats to Quinton Sargent who took 2nd place in this year's Arts Mineral Point Ice Lantern Festival contest! Thanks to all who supported this event as proceeds benefit our high school art department.

On Sunday, March 5th, Mineral Point celebrated St Piran’s Day with traditional Cornish fare at The Walker House. Three Mineral Point students who will travel on the Cornwall Exchange trip this month shared their winning Benson Scholarship writing entries. Marcus Cool 3rd place winner shared about Cornish musical instruments and culture, Ella James 2nd place winner shared about the origins of the Cornish pasty, and 1st place winner Julianna Cool shared about 20th Century Cornish composer George Lloyd. Congratulations to the scholarship winners and great job presenting!

1st graders traveled to Peru! One of our substitute teachers, Kate Olsen-Birner, shared her life experiences and expertise as an art teacher to take explorers on a trip.

Café con Amigos with local Spanish speakers, and our students, is back! They meet twice a month to speak with each other at Cafe 43 Coffee House & Boutique Market.

Do we have some future paleontologists on our hands? Students became scientists during library class, studying rocks and fossils!
