Coloma Junior High

Students did a wonderful job with our Remote Friday. Students and staff were able to work out some bugs with getting into their Google Meetings on schedule. Our attendance was strong! Thank you for supporting your students to make sure that they were up and ready to get their assignments completed.

You don't want to miss out on the fun of the Annual Turkey Trot! The event is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11th. All 6th graders will participate in the annual event. 7th and 8th graders that are interested in participating must sign up in the main office. There is still time, be sure to sign up soon!

Our focus this month is for students to Come Prepared! We are asking students to focus on bringing a charged Chromebook each and every day. Students that are able to meet this expectation will be able to participate in a celebration prior to Thanksgiving Break.

How can you help your child meet this expectation?

• Have a nightly routine for your child to plug in their Chromebook before they go to bed or after they complete their homework.
• Have your child bring their charger in their Chromebook case daily
• Charge the Chromebook in an area that they will remember to grab it before they head out the door each day, near their backpack or lunch

Last week the JH participated in our own election for student council seats. Students had the opportunity to run and campaign for President and Vice President. We had a close race and all students that participated will continue to represent the student body as grade level representatives.

We are proud to announce that Gavin Morlock and Madelynn Hamilton are our new President and Vice President. Congratulations!

At CJH our staff works hard to go above and beyond for our students. We recognize each other's hard work by passing a Shine a Light Trophy to staff members that have gone above and beyond or just in general make CJH a better and brighter place to be.

This past month the recipient of the Shine a Light Trophy was Mrs. Oles. The cafeteria staff awarded the trophy to Mrs. Oles for the work that she does for our students. They are grateful for the time that she spends before, during and after school to ensure that our students are successful. Thank you for all that you do, Mrs. Oles!
