COP Happenings
January was a great month for the students in the Career Orientation Program. Students were able to experience various activities that included another wonderful trip to Club DREAMS, a presentation on Pennco Tech Trade School, and our Transition students had the opportunity to take a trip to The Blue Light Music Program in Mt. Holly.
Students in Ms. Murphy and Ms. Barbadoro's classes participated in a fun aerobic, rhythm based activity called "Drums Alive". It has been described as a "fun evidence-based wellness program that improves physical, mental, and social-emotional well-being with a combination of cognition, drumming, movement, music, and rhythm." "Drums Alive" is just part of the many program offerings from Club DREAMS.
On January 24th, Northern Burlington welcomed Ms. Patti Sheffer from Pennco Tech. Ms. Shaffer met with students interested in the trades to discuss many of the program offerings at Pennco.
Lastly, our transition students took a wonderful trip to Blue Light to experience a sample offering of what may be available to them through DDD funding once they age out of our transition program. Students were able to record their own songs and play along to their favorite songs using various instruments in the studio.

Featured Job Placement of the Month: Goodwill Industries
Goodwill Industries has partnered with our COP program throughout the years to provide our students with building skills, such as customer service and handling merchandise properly. Goodwill Industries also strives to provide "Life-changing opportunities for individuals across varied communities." This year Goodwill Industries welcomed our students at the Hamilton location. They assist in putting away inventory after Goodwill's popular Sunday $1 dollar day event. They help tidy up the store and they make sure the isles are clear for customers to safely shop. Ms. Gale, a Goodwill employee, looks forward to seeing our students every week. Ms. Gail has said, "Your students are a big help to us on Monday's, we really appreciate the help!"
Austin works on organizing a section of the store.
