LETTER FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL
Spring is Here, sunny weather finally!
I hope everyone had a great spring break. We have now begun our state CAASPP testing and our kids are working hard. Thank you for all your support.
Saturday is Junior Olympics at Los Altos High! Our students have been training hard and our relay teams are practicing before and after school too. I hope that everyone comes and cheers on our 4th-6th graders who will be trying their best to beat their own personal records. The motto is “do your personal best” and sportsmanship is on full display. It is a great day with such community enthusiasm. Hope to see you there!
And Sign up for a volunteer slot: A strong community is made up of engaged participants. And this is why our family loves Almond and the Los Altos School District -- our great community! Junior Olympics volunteers - High School students can help out too and get volunteer hours!
Lost and Found: Please check the front of the school for any items that have been lost this year. We now have 3 tables full of sweatshirts, jackets, pants, water bottles, hats and more!
LASD Community Festival--You’re Invited!

We still need to raise $235K to support LASD in providing key programs to every student this school year. Donate today. Your gift of any amount would be appreciated. Thank you to those who have already given this year!
Stay Bobcat Strong!

This year’s Pet Parade will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in downtown Los Altos. This free event is open to kids, adults and their pets. For additional information or to register visit www.losaltoskiwanis.org/Page/21428. Entry forms are due by May 16, 2023.
Opt in for Text Messages in Case of an Emergency
In the event of a major earthquake or windstorm or even more rain..... we can assume that electricity and wifi may go down as it did a few weeks ago. Therefore, we will use our SMS system to communicate with the community. Essentially a text messaging system that goes directly to your cell phone, SMS requires parents to opt into it to receive texts from the school. We also use the SMS system to send occasional reminders (like on minimum-day dismissals).
You can participate in this free service (standard message and data rates may apply) just by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587. You can also opt out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.
Universal Meals Program: April Menus
Our new Universal Meals program will be available for a Grab and Go breakfast between 8:10-8:25, from our new Servery Window (By the lunch tables near the Multi) and eat at the tables. If they do not finish, they can save it until recess time.
Monthly Menus will be published on the Santa Rita school website
If you have a special diet please email santaritasecretary@lasdschools.org and ask for a form to fill out. Please review the menu with your student. NUTRITION SERVICES FAQ - If you have questions, please add them to this document.
