Who could possibly imagine a winter like this??! For the past several months, a committee has been working hard to plan and organize the 2024 Celebration Of The Lakes, in high hopes that the cold weather we experienced 2 weeks ago would hold out long enough to give us the ice we need to move forward with all the events. As I look at the next 7-day forecast, our hopes for enough ice and snow to be on lakes looks slim to none. Thankfully, there are still many events going on February 9 – 11th to get you out of the house and have some fun.

Friday night is the kids movie night (Ojiketa Park), candle lit hike (Allemansrätt Park), bingo (Jake’s On The Lakes), cornhole tourney (Uncommon Loon) and boutique fashion show (Winehaven). Saturday events that will still go on include the pickleball and cribbage tournaments (Wildcat Community Center). Some events may be moved to an alternate site, so watch the Celebration of The Lakes Facebook Page for updates on cancellation or location changes. Saturday night we will still have FIREWORKS, but likely shooting off from Paradise Park. Grab a Booya or Lasagna meal to keep you energized to enjoy the 3 live bands playing around town. Sunday still brings fun with the Grumpy Old Men service, pancake breakfast and family bingo. And finally, we have the puzzle, photo and fish story contests. Check out the Facebook page for all the details. Old man winter will not have the final say…we will celebrate our community, with or without the ice. A special thanks to all of our sponsors and committee members. Without you all, we could not have such a great weekend lineup for our communities.

And lastly, please help support the 4 non-profit organizations selling raffle tickets for a 2024 Sportsman ATV, $1k Polaris gift certificate, $750 FXR gift certificate and a $500 Bikeman Tuneup certificate. Chisago County Statewide Health Improvement Partnership Community Partner Award Grant Funding Now Available!

Community Partner Award grant applications are now open and will be accepted while funds are available or until July 15, 2024. Workplaces, schools, healthcare, and community organizations are able to apply for funding to support healthy eating, active living, commercial tobacco cessation or well-being! Learn more about the Chisago County Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP). If interested on how SHIP can support you or your organization, fill out the Project Interest Form to connect about your project proposal.
