High School
Unlike our virtual days after Thanksgiving when students had to check in each hour and assignments were due each hour, we know that during inclement weather the internet may not always work as well as you would like and our high school students may be your babysitters. Our teachers will still be assigning work and will be available for questions, it will just look a bit different. We have established some guidelines as we meet this next challenge this year.
1. Students will be expected to check Google classroom for each of their classes.
2. Assignments and due dates will be posted. Some assignments may be due that same day, and some may be due the following day.
3. If you have any questions, all teachers will be available from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Please email them with any questions you have.
For students who attend Nichols Career Center, you will not attend on a snow day/ virtual day.
If you have any questions, please email me by replying to this newsletter. It will come directly to me.
Virtual Learning Etiquette
- Fully clothed - dress as though coming to school. Comfy clothes such as PJs are fine, we just asked that everyone is covered.
- No pets - please refrain from having pets join during this time.
- Proper learning environment - we ask that students sit at a table or in a chair, but not be walking around or taking the Chromebook (aka class) with them to the bathroom.
- Stay on topic - this is a time to focus on learning. It isn't intended to be a social hour to visit with friends or tell stories.
- Be mindful of surroundings - while it can be challenging, we ask everyone to do their part to find a space that is quiet when logging on. Background events can be distracting to others also logged on.
- Please avoid eating while logged in as it can be distracting to others.
