We are One Hart, with our goal to make Every Student...Opportunity Ready!
It has been a great year and I hope your student has enjoyed their time this year at La Mesa!
A huge shout out to Lyric Scott who broke the city record for 7th grade in the 400M run last week at our District Track Meet! You can see more information about this accomplishment later in this update.
We hope you all enjoy your Holiday Weekend with no school on Monday! As we come to the last week of school, we have some exciting things planned for our students on the last week.
On Tuesday, students that ordered a Yearbook will be given to them at the end of A Period and given time to look through and have friends begin signing them. If you would like to purchase a yearbook, there will be some available for purchase at our ASB window on Tuesday afternoon for $60.
There are so many great opportunities for students and parents listed in this update (including information about next school year and the opportunities available for your student to get involved on campus)
I hope you take the time to read through all of the exciting things happening at La Mesa and Golden Valley!

Please join us via Zoom for our final PAC meeting of the year. We will be voting on amendments, hearing of the new hat policy for our campus effective next school year, and membership for next year.
Please join us via zoom at 12pm on May 30
New Hat Policy for Next year
La Mesa is looking at a new Hat Policy for the Fall semester for 2023. This would change our policy to only allowing La Mesa Logo headwear. If you would like to know more about this potential policy, please join our PAC meeting that is being held via Zoom with the link above this announcement.
The attached picture is a possible hat design where we will look to have 3 options of style and a beanie for students to purchase.
The reason for this change will be expressed at the Zoom Meeting on Tuesday. We hope you can make it if you have any questions or concerns you would like to share.
Last day of School Protocol - No Backpack
Families,
We have seen an increasing number of balloons and water guns coming onto campus. While these may seem simple at first and just playful fun, these are causing peer conflicts to arise and we need your help. Please speak with your students on what is appropriate to bring to school. We have a lot of fun activities planned for the last week and we would hate to have to take away those activates from students due to them bringing prohibited items.
Due to this and what we hear students planning for the last day, we will not be allowing backpacks to school on the last day, Thursday, June 1. We have spoken with their teachers and all activities on the last day will be done using google and the classroom Chromebooks so there will be no need for their backpacks for school supplies on this day.
We hope you understand the reasoning behind this and will come along side us as we look to have an amazing end to the school year!
If you have questions about this, please join our Zoom meeting on Tuesday, 12pm from the link above.
Thank you,
Kullen Welch - Principal
