PTO Fundraiser - Gaga Ball Pit
The PTO fundraiser to raise money to build a Gaga ball pit begins on on Tuesday, January 16! Last year, we were able to raise enough money to add two pieces of equipment to the playground and we're hopeful to add a Gaga ball pit!
What is Gaga ball?
Gaga is a fast paced, high energy sport played in an octagonal pit. The more players the better! The game is played with a soft foam ball, and combines the skills of dodging, running, and jumping, while trying to roll the ball to get opponents out below the knees. Players need to keep moving to avoid getting hit by the ball. Fun, safe, and easy, everyone gets a serious workout.
How can you help?
Each student will be raising money (typically loose change) in order to raise funds for the Gaga ball pit. The class that raises the most money in each grade level gets a pizza party at the end of the fundraiser. The fundraiser will last from Tuesday, January 16 to Friday, February 9.
Starbase Trips - 5th Grade
Each year, every fifth grade student visits Starbase, a hands-on program held at the WV Air National Guard in Martinsburg. Ms. Glover, Mrs. Riley and Mrs. Leonard's classes are going currently. Please ensure your student brings a packed lunch if you marked that choice on the form sent home. Our cafeteria staff only sends the appropriate number of school lunches as indicated on the form.
Thank you!
Milk Carton Shortage Update
We still can't offer extra milks at this time to buyers, but they will still get their choice of milk. The newest information is that packers are now able to charge their account for a milk. As usual, they are able to purchase one with a quarter, too. Thankfully, it seems the shortage is slowly getting better.
Thank you as we work through this issue!
Potomack Band Interest Survey
Mr. English, band teacher at Spring Mills Middle, is interested in creating an after school band at Potomack for 4th and 5th grade students.
Below is the link to the recruitment website for parents to read more about the positive impacts of music and the interest form for parents to fill out.
