Free and Low-Cost Summer Happenings
Playgrounds and Parks
- Rockfield Park Creative Playground, Bel Air - also home to the Chesapeake Sensory Plaza, which is a 5,000-square-foot interactive water playground with a series of wading pools
- Annie’s Playground, Fallston - look for the new 2-5 year old play area to open soon!!
- Lyn Stacie Getz Creative Playground, Bel Air
- Shucks Road Park, Bel Air – sensory trail with 10 interactive features to see, touch & hear
- Tydings Park, Havre de Grace – an all access playground… then walk the Promenade!
- Bear Legacy Adventure Trail, Bel Air - series of hiking trails that include a number of movement stations. The mostly flat terrain features a fairy garden, swing bridge, and climbing wall.

Eden Mill Summer Happenings

LISS Funding -- Applications Accepted until June 30th
LISS stands for Low Intensity Support Services and supports people with disabilities. Fund by the State of Maryland, it grants recipients up to $2,000 for to improve quality of life and encourage participation in their communities. Recipients are identified through a random selection process and not based on income.
Funds can be used on respite and child care, adaptive equipment, assistive technology, therapeutic and community activities, and so much more.

Summer Camps
2022 Summer Learning Series with the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities
The Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD) Community and Professional Development Training program at Kennedy Krieger Institute is hosting a Summer Learning Series from June through early August. The series consists of one-hour and three-hour workshops with interdisciplinary topics focused on working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities and their families. MCDD's Summer Learning Series program helps a range of professionals and community members expand their knowledge and skills to engage in effective advocacy.
All workshops are virtual via Zoom.

2-1-1 Maryland is a resource that brings together four agencies to provide simple access to health and human services information. What can they help with? Affordable housing, food, employment training, utility payment assistance, services for their children or aging parents, and many other issues. The 2-1-1 database has information on nearly 5,000 agencies and programs across the state of Maryland.
