A Message from Dr. Toni Hicks
Serving Together
As I wrap up my first month in Jarrell ISD, I am struck by the giving heart of the Jarrell community. In the midst of the holiday season, I am so inspired to see our community coming together and helping others in need.
Here are just a few examples:
- The Jarrell High School FFA is collecting items for the Be a Santa to a Senior program. Items like soap, lotion, fuzzy socks, calendars, etc. are being collected by the FFA and will be donated to local senior citizens. High schoolers will wrap the items in gift bags that were decorated by students from Igo Elementary and Jarrell Elementary.
- Jarrell Middle School students collected items for Operation Christmas Child (more information is below). Our great partners from Fort Hood joined our students in preparing these gifts.
As COVID-19 cases continue to climb, one important way we can serve each other is by wearing a mask or face coverings that covers our nose and mouth whenever we are around others outside our own home. Washing our hands often and thoroughly, social distancing, and using hand sanitizer are other small ways we can support each other. And as always, please monitor yourself for COVID-19 symptoms daily and do not go out if you show signs of illness.
Let's serve and support each other to help keep each other safe and healthy!
Go Cougars!

Window for Families to Choose In-Person or Virtual Learning Opens November 30
November 30 - December 4, parents of Jarrell ISD middle and high students have the opportunity to change their student from in-person to virtual learning, or from virtual to in-person learning. Middle school and high school parents have received the survey through email.
Parents of elementary students will be contacted directly by their child's teacher regarding their choice for their students. Families will have another opportunity to change their choice at the next 9 week grading period.
Parents, Please Update Your Contact Information
In the event Jarrell ISD needs to notify families of a change to school operations due to the ongoing pandemic, a school closure due to inclement weather, or alert parents of other emergency situations, the district will contact parents through email, phone calls and text messages. The district's website and official social media accounts will also provide up-to-date information.
If you are a parent or a guardian and you wish to opt-in to receive emergency text messages from Jarrell ISD, please send "Y" to 67587.
