BOBCAT NATION
We have OPEN HOUSE scheduled for Monday, October 24, 2022, from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.
- Please encourage all students to attend.
- Please ensure that your room is clean and tidy.
- Please have an inviting atmosphere.
- Please be prepared to greet every parent with a friendly smile.
- Please showcase student work.
- Please provide parents with syllabus and classroom expectations.
OPEN HOUSE is one of those events where your presence is an expectation. We understand that we all have lives and personal things to do but parents expect teachers to be here. YOU, the teacher, are the focal point of OPEN HOUSE, not anyone else. The last thing parents want to see is a sign-in sheet taped to the door with a note that you couldn't be here.
One of our goals in our Campus Improvement Plan is to provide opportunities that foster positive relationships and experiences between the school, parents, and the community. On that note, we are looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday evening. Go Bobcats!
RED RIBBON WEEK PAYS TRIBUTE TO DEA AGENT KIKI CAMARENA
Enrique "Kiki" Camarena was a Drug Enforcement Administration Agent who was tortured and killed in Mexico in 1985. In honor of Kiki's memory and his battle against illegal drugs, friends and neighbors began to wear red badges of satin. Parents then began to form coalitions using Camarena as their model while embracing his belief that one person can make a difference. These coalitions adopted the symbol of Camarena's memory, the Red Ribbon. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.
