Cheerleading
The Varsity Cheer team had a great week of practices, including a fantastic stunt clinic. The team is working hard to perfect their technique and increase their energy and spirit on the sidelines. This was evident at Friday's match up against Perkiomen Valley, where the team cheered the football team on until the very end! The team is looking forward to traveling to Boyertown this weekend for the game against the Bears.
Upcoming Events:

On Saturday the boys' cross-country team placed 8th out of 46 teams at the Carlisle Invitational. The team was led by Brock Yoder who finished 14th in the race out of 325 runners and was the fastest freshman in the race. He was followed by Charlie Reith, Matt Sandner, Colin O'Donnell and Nate Alex. Ben Freese, Jackson Harris and Mike Schreiber had great JV races too. Next up Owen J Roberts at home on Wednesday.

Girls Cross Country
The Girls Cross Country Team won a "battle" vs Spring-Ford at Wednesday's Meet by having Molly Thomas place 1st overall at the meet but lost the "war" to the Rams 20-39.
The Team finished the week by racing at The Carlisle Invitational on Saturday morning. Molly Thomas continued her excellent senior cross country campaign by placing 25th overall in a field of 258 runners. This effort garnered her another award medal and dropped her best performance during this season to 19:47.
Sophomores Mya Frazier & Sara Zwierzchowski each showed a 4:00 minute plus drop in time improvement racing their best times of the year during the JV race.
The Team has a PAC Meet vs OJR on Wednesday, at Heebner Park, and will finish out the week at Souderton's Twilight Meet on Saturday.
Upcoming Events:
-Wednesday 10/4 - Meet vs. Owen J. Roberts @ Heebner (HOME)

Field Hockey
This past week, both teams experienced some success on the field, playing Perk Valley two times in one week and ending the week with a non-league game against Oley Valley. JV started the week with a 1-1 tie against Perk Valley. They turned it around on Friday to defeat the Vikings 3-0 with a hat trick from freshman, Sydney Ryan. Saturday's non-league game ended with a tough 3-1 loss.
The varsity team started their week with a decisive 9-0 win against PV, lead by senior captain, Lily DeWan, who had 3 goals and 2 assists. Friday's game ended with a 7-0 win where Carmela Maro lead the team with 3 goals and 2 assists. Saturday's intense non-league game was a showcase of the team's defense. The team faced 26 defensive corners without allowing a goal. Sophomore goalie, Maddie McKenney was a brick wall in the goal cage, facing 16 shots and saving all of them. After playing a complete 60-minute game followed by a 10-minute overtime, the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
The team looks forward to finishing out their last two weeks of the regular season by showing their skill and growth in league play. Monday the team takes on Phoenixville at home, JV 5:30pm and Varsity at 7pm. Wednesday the team travels down Ridge to take on Norristown. Friday night, come out to support the team as they take on Owen J Roberts at home and also host their annual PINK Game and Youth League Night! JV plays at 5:30 pm and Varsity plays at 7 pm. There will be a bake sale and possibly some PINK shirts being sold during the games. Please also consider donating to the team's fundraiser to help reach their goal of $5,500. 100% of the proceeds made from this fundraiser go to cancer research.
Players of the practice this week:
Emma Harris (freshman) - Over the past couple of weeks, Emma has consistently improved her game and brought great energy to her own contributions to the team and her personal game/skills. She gives positive, constructive feedback to her teammates and even provides a leadership role.
Carmela Maro (junior) - Like every day, Carmela was pushing herself to improve upon her already stellar skills. Her effort and focus throughout the season so far have been absolutely amazing which help her stand out on the field.
Upcoming Events:
-Monday 10/2 - Game vs. Phoenixville (HOME)
-Wednesday 10/4 - Game vs. Norristown (AWAY)
-Friday 10/6 - Game vs. Owen J. Roberts (HOME)
Football
The Warriors traveled to Perk Valley on Friday Sept. 29 to take on the PV Vikings. While the outcome was not what we hoped it would be, there were several players who played well. Gabe Franks stepped in to play on the offensive line because of some injuries and illness and played well in his varsity debut. Jared Hall-Sanford continues to play in several key positions and helped block a Punt, that allowed Levi Borkoswki to set the ball up inside the 10 yard line. Aidan Drozd remains steady as our FG/PAT kicker, converting on a 24 yard field goal. Wesley Conover played well on both sides of the ball. Senior Captains DJ Balinger and Collin O’Neill continue to lead our team.
Upcoming Events:
-Friday 10/6 - Game vs. Boyertown (AWAY)
Boys Golf
This past week the Boys Golf Team competed in the PAC Individual Golf Tournament at Turtle Creek. Junior Matthew Rieger shot a 4 over par 76 in extremely difficult conditions to tie for first place. There was a three-way playoff to determine the eventual champion. Matthew nearly holed out his chip for birdie and stepped up and sank a 12 foot putt for par to force Ayush Patel to make his birdie putt. The PV senior sank his birdie putt and Matthew finished second.
Matthew will now move on to the Boys District One Individual Tournament, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday again at Turtle Creek.
Upcoming Events:
-Monday 10/9 - PIAA District 1 Golf Tournament @ Turtle Creek GC (AWAY)
-Tuesday 10/10 - PIAA District 1 Golf Tournament Final Round @ Turtle Creek GC (AWAY)

Kate Thomas (12) qualified for the PIAA District I Golf Tournament taking place on Monday, October 9th by placing 3rd at the PAC Tournament last week. Kate will compete in the first round of Districts on Monday, October 9th at Raven’s Claw Golf Course. She is a 3x District Qualifier for Methacton.
Lauren Springman (9) finished tied for 16th but lost in the first playoff to miss a birth to Districts. Julia Sala (12) finished 19th and Shivani Joshi (12) finished 34th respectively.
Upcoming Events:
-Monday 10/9 - PIAA District I Golf Tournament @ Raven's Claw GC (AWAY)
-Tuesday 10/10 - PIAA District 1 Golf Tournament Final Round @ Turtle Creek GC (AWAY)
Boys Soccer
The Boys Soccer team was able to notch their second win of the season in their match against PJP on Tuesday. The rains stopped long enough for the Warriors to bang home 5 goals for a 5-0 victory. Goals were scored by Dishawn Shakes (2), Ethan Kumar, Cole Kleger and Riel Jacobson, while the defense was anchored by the Man of the Match, Logan Courtney.
Wednesday saw the boys right back at it against Phoenixville. While celebrating our 14 seniors on Senior Night, the Warriors battled a solid Phoenixville team to a hard fought 1-1 draw. The lone goal scored by Cole Kleger while Man of the Match Kristian Bauer had his best game of the year controlling everything that came through the midfield area.
The Warriors wrapped up the week on Saturday morning with an early bus ride to Springfield Delco. It took the boys about 15 minutes to actually wake up but when they did, they managed to control the game and come away with a soggy but solid 2-0 victory. The goals were tallied by Kristian Bauer and Logan Courtney. Man of the Match Ethan Kumar gave Springfield fits all over the center of the field.
The JV squad went 2-1 on the week, opening with a convincing 3-2 win at Pope John Paul II on Tuesday with goals by Anderson Chan, Lucas Rundle, and Paul Toaso. Wednesday saw the team top Phoenixville 2-0 on penalty goals by Aaron Hamilton and Lucas Rundle. Saturday, despite playing exceptionally well, the boys were unable to finish their own chances and surrendered a heartbreaker with only two seconds remaining to fall 1-0 to Springfield (Delco).
Upcoming Events:
-Monday 10/2 - Game vs. Norristown (AWAY)
-Wednesday 10/4 - Game vs. Owen J. Roberts (HOME)
-Saturday 10/7 - Game vs. CB South HS (HOME)
Girls Soccer
Girls Soccer celebrated their senior night last week, by honoring seniors Aubrey Beaugard, Dannie Bordonaro, Mia Chan, Anna Rees, and Kendall Ricca for all their hard work and dedication to the program over the last 4 years. Unfortunately, the game vs Upper Dublin didn’t go their way, as they lost 3-0. They followed it up with another heartbreaking loss to Phoenixville the next day, 1-0.
Friday night, they beat division rival Owen J Roberts for the first time since 2019, by a score of 1-0. Senior Aubrey Beaugard scored the Warriors’ lone goal with 3 minutes left in the first half, on a shot from about 35 yards out. Freshman Anna Qawasmy made 8 saves to earn her first shutout of the season.
The Warriors are now 4-8, and will look to climb back into District I playoff contention with 3 big games this week.
Upcoming Events:
-Monday 10/2 - Game vs. Norristown (HOME)
-Wednesday 10/4 - Game vs. Owen J. Roberts (AWAY)
-Thursday 10/5 - Game vs. Norristown (AWAY)
Girls Tennis
Girls tennis had 2 more league matches this past week. One was a continued rain delayed match against Owen J Roberts which ended in a disappointing 3-4 loss for the Warriors. The team came back though later in the week with a 7-0 victory against Pottstown. The team has 3 more league matches to go this week to wrap up the regular season. The team currently holds a 7-2 record in the PAC
In individual play senior Hana Nouaime and junior Anika Suresh competed in the District Singles Championship at the Springfield YMCA. Anika faced Spring Ford's number 2 player and lost a close 3 set match. Hana Nouaime had a very long day winning 3 matches which earned her an official spot in the state championship coming up in the beginning of November. Congrats to both girls for representing the Warriors very well! We are excited for our big week ahead. As a team we have 3 home matches and then at the end of the week we have the PAC doubles championships where Lauren Montgomery, Anika Suresh, Claire Montgomery and Chelsea Lian will all competing for a spot in the district doubles tournament coming up the following week.

Volleyball
Volleyball had a great week going 5-0 in a packed match week. The week started against a very good OJR team that pushed us to the brink. We were able to get past them with a 3-2 victory. The next day we traveled to PV where we were able to get a 3-0 win. We were back on the road against Pottsgrove on Friday where we again won 3-0. All of these wins helped to improve our standing in the PAC as we move towards our goal of being a PAC Final Four participant. Saturday saw us in action against Conestoga and Great Valley at home in a tri-match. We won both matches 3-0 helping to bring our overall record to 11-2.
The long week saw all athletes in action against multiple opponents. This week truly represented what it means to have a complete team as we continue toward our goals. This week we will see 3 additional PAC matches with Norristown on Monday, OJR on Wednesday and Pottstown on Friday. Wednesday will be our annual Dig Pink event where we raise money for breast cancer awareness. Please come out and support your Warriors on Wednesday night as we raise money for this worthy cause.
Upcoming Events:
-Monday 10/2 - Match vs. Norristown (AWAY)
-Wednesday 10/4 - Match vs. Owen J. Roberts (HOME)
-Friday 10/6 - Match vs. Pottstown (HOME)
