Once again HMS students will be participating in the SOS (Signs of Suicide) program here at school.

Through the program, students learn:

● that depression is treatable, so they are encouraged to seek help

● how to identify depression and potential suicide risk in themselves or a friend

● to ACT (Acknowledge, Care and Tell a trusted adult) if concerned about themselves or a friend

● who they can turn to at school for help, if they need it

Dear Parent/Guardian

Please take a moment to make sure your child in 6th grade completed state required medical exams and vaccinations.

Per Illinois State law students need to complete Physical Exam, Tdap and Meningitis vaccination as well as Dental exam.

If you did not complete the above paperwork or did not provide it to school, it is now overdue.

Please arrange doctor's appointments ASAP to comply with the state law, keep our students healthy, and avoid exclusions after 10/15/22. If you have the required paperwork, please provide it to the school immediately.

Affy Tapple orders are due October 11, 2022!

HMS students will be allowed to wear costumes to school to celebrate Halloween on October 28, 2022. Please click the button below to read the guidelines for this day. Please make sure your child is following all Halloween guidelines so that we can have a fun filled day!

HMS will celebrate Red Ribbon Week with a Spirit Week, sponsored by the Athletic Department!

Monday: Red Out Day: Wear Red for Red Ribbon Week

Tuesday: It Takes a Team to be Drug Free: Wear your favorite sports attire

Wednesday: Too Bright for Drugs: Wear neon or bright colors

Thursday: Sailors Always Say No To Drugs: Wear any HMS gear

Friday: You Can Be Anything You Want When You're Drug Free: Costume Day

Coed cross country will be running at sectionals Saturday, October 7, 2022 at 9am at St. James Farm! Good Luck and go Sailors
