School Site Council and the English Learner Advisory Committee
Our next public meeting will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 with ELAC meeting and School Site Coucil meeting at 6:00 via zoom. Please email Mrs. Comstock at ccomstock@hueneme.org if you would like the link to the meeting. We will be discussing the Comprehensive Safe Schools Plan for Parkview. The agenda will be posted on the school website and outside of the school office the week of January 21st.
Parent Conferences
Parent conferences will continue next week, December 7th through 11th. Most classes will not meet Friday, December 11th, unless the teacher decides to meet with the class. If you have not already scheduled a conference with your child's teacher, please do so right away. Translation will be provided upon request.
Parkview Spirit Days
Let's have some fun and show our Parkview spirit with some Spirit Days! Follow the schedule below and show up to your Google Meet or Zoom showing your Parkview Spirit.
Winter Break
Winter Break is from December 19th through January 3rd. December 18th is a minimum day and Google Meets/Zoom sessions will end by 11:30. Children will still complete their independent, at-home work on December 18th after they meet with their teacher. School resumes in 100% distance learning, the same model as now, on January 4th, 2021. Enjoy your break!
Students Returning to Campus
Small groups of students have returned to campus for on-site instruction. These classes were selected based on factors related to the children's needs. Parents may be wondering if our region is placed on a stay at home order if those classes will be put on 100% distance learning again. According to Governor Newsom, the order will not affect schools that have already opened fully or partially. We plan to continue with our current model for now. We will send an update if anything changes. For now, we do not have a date to bring more students back for hybrid learning (on campus for two days per week), but we are working to be ready as soon as our school board determines we are ready.
