Forward, together
In an effort to increase communication at all levels within our organization, we are proud to share our monthly newsletter for all EMSD #37 families and stakeholders. You will find pertinent information, featured district programs and celebrations, as well as events in our schools and the community.
One of our core values in the East Moline School District is a strong, community-wide support network so please share this information with your neighbors and other families because we've always found that we do better when we work together. Our District newsletter will run during the school months so be sure to watch for the next publication in August of 2023. We are proud of our students, employees and our schools so we look forward to sharing more with our community in the months and years ahead. We hope you enjoy our first installment.
Yours for children,
Dr. Kristin Humphries, Superintendent

Meet the New Board of Education Members
Dr. Kimberly Dyer
1. Tell us about your family and why you chose to send your kids to EMSD #37.
- I'm married and have two children. When my husband and I moved to the Quad Cities, we wanted to find a school district that had many opportunities and a lot of diversity. We chose the East Moline School District and have been happy with that decision.
2. Why did you decide to run for the school board?
- I'm passionate about education and an academic at heart. I've been volunteering in my children's schools and on the PTA, and felt I could contribute more to the whole district as part of the school board.
3. What do you do for fun?
- I enjoy reading and gardening. I love to do activities with my children.
4. What are you most looking forward to as a Board Member in EMSD #37?
- I'm looking forward to using my talents to enhance the great work this board of education is already doing.

Summer Support for Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
As we approach summer it is important to keep in mind our students' personal growth as a whole child which includes growing socially and emotionally. Below, we have linked some resources from the EMSD SEL and Counseling website to help connect our families with skills and practices children use in the classroom and the home.
SEL Skills overview - An overview of social emotional learning with videos to understand the areas of focus and examples of these skills to help children become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers and lifelong learners.
SEL in the home - Resources that are used in our schools and ideas of how to extend this support to the home.
