Our 2023 Casino Fundraiser Event is happening on July 14th and 15th, 2022 at the Jackpot Casino Red Deer (6350 67st in Red Deer). This event is completely volunteer run and that’s where we need your help, we need lots of volunteers!

Holding a casino is a significant fundraiser for BESTA with the proceeds going towards the students at Bashaw School. The Casino funds has paid for sporting equipment, musical instruments, Mathletics, bussing for field trips and sports and many other school needs. In previous years hosting a casino for two days returned over $20,000.

There are a variety of positions and shifts available - you can volunteer one day or both days, day and/or night. As a thank you during your shift(s), food and beverages are supplied by us at no extra cost.

We ask that if you commit to volunteering, that you will have no other responsibilities during your scheduled times, as it can be difficult to find replacements. If something were to come up during your shift(s), please try and find a friend or family member to cover your shift before cancelling.

Thank you so much for your help, it’s with amazing parents of Bashaw School like you that we can continue growing our organization and its impact. We greatly value all our volunteers and hope you can come out to our casino fundraiser!

We want to let you know - Mrs. Amanda Swedberg will continue her leave of absence for the remainder of the school year. We are going to miss her greatly! We are blessed that Mrs. Jaclyn Vikse will continue for the remainder of the school year.

Tomorrow morning our students in Grades K-8 will enjoy the award winning musical theatre production of Jack and the Beanstalk performed by Alberta Musical Theatre Company!

Students are encouraged to come to school in something red.

Red Dress Day, held on May 5 each year, is a national event to raise awareness about the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in Canada. On this day, participants wear red dresses (or other red pieces of clothing) to honour these women's lives and bring attention to the issue of violence against Indigenous women.

Our Sr. High Drama class will be presenting an entertaining version of Aladdin Jr.!

Where: Bashaw United Church

Tickets will be available at the school. Make sure to get yours early! You don't want to miss it!

Dress up in your favorite Star Wars character and take a picture and email it to us! We'd love to post your picture, and share it with our students!

Did you know that Battle River School Division is looking for casual/substitute Educational Assistants? If you are interested, please apply on the BRSD website under Careers. You are able to choose the schools you are willing to work at!

Did you know that it can be a challenge to find buses and bus drivers?

Teachers and coaches plan far in advance to secure buses and drivers for events. Bus drivers are in demand. Check out the BRSD website under Careers for more details.
