Principal's Message
Dear Niton Central School Community,
I hope you all had a good weekend! As I write this on Saturday morning, my wish is that it stays relatively warm for those who plan on trick-or-treating. As a Saskatchewan girl who raised Albertans, I also know that Halloween costumes look great both over and under snowsuits when necessary! This past Friday, Niton Central School held its annual Halloween parade outside in the bus lane. Our Niton Central School Facebook page has over 40 photos of the parade! Thank-you Mr. Meier for the organization and to our student-leaders who acted as judges. It was great to see parents/guardians come out and cheer from the other side of the lane. Thank-you as well to the Niton Central Fundraising Society's Halloween treat baskets that were delivered to all classes. The community support for our school and students is so appreciated!
The Niton Knights volleyball teams played their second away game on Thursday at Pine Grove. Both our boys and girls keep improving their game. Congratulations to the girls on their win and to the boys who won all games. Both teams continue to do us proud!! Once again, thank-you to Mrs. Benson who volunteers her time to coach both teams and to Mr. Fern and Ms. Grantham for helping out when they can. Thank-you to Mr. Stoyles for your time spent traveling to Edson and being a go-to supervisor for the trip so Coach Benson could focus on the bench. This week, the Knights are at home against Grand Trunk and we are pleased to offer a live stream of the games. Please see details below.
Thank you for your continued support of the Niton Central School community and for completing the Alberta Health Daily Checklist before sending your student to school. We appreciate the great response of informing the office or classroom teacher of student absences. Please don't forget to notify your student's bus driver. As always, my door remains open and I can be contacted by phoning the school or through email.
Wishing everyone a great week ahead!

PAJAMA DAY MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1: A NCS TRADITION :)
November 1 is traditionally a pajama day at Niton Central School. So in the spirit, feel free to wear your school-appropriate pjs on Monday. On Friday, many elementary students indicated that they were beginning to feel the cold of our oncoming winter. It may be time to get out our winter gear for recess times.
PICTURE RE-TAKES AND JR KINDERGARTEN PICTURE DAY, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2!
PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS November 2 & 3, 4 pm - 7:30 pm
Knights in Action! Thursday, November 4 against Grand Trunk!! Watch the action LIVE STREAM!
As per Alberta legislation at this time, spectators are allowed at games. Niton Central School gym has less than 20 spectator seats. Practices remain closed. Our number one priority of Niton Central School Athletics is our student athletes and their participation in school sport.
Therefore, the following spectator guidelines MUST be followed by ALL spectators:
1. Our capacity for spectators is low as we must seat teams, coaches, and bus drivers first.
Therefore, we have less than 20 seats available.
2. Please LIMIT the number of in-person spectators per athlete and prioritize parents/guardians of athletes. We ask that spectators watch their athlete's game and then exit the building so parents/guardians of the second team may watch their athlete.
3. Sanitation will take place between boys and girls games. Note that all spectators MUST wear masks at ALL times while in Niton Central School. Spectators must sign in, remain masked and seated, sit in family cohorts and maintain social distance. Hands must be sanitized upon entering and leaving the gymnasium.
4. Unfortunately, only students who are on the Volleyball teams will be allowed to remain after school on game days. NCS siblings of athletes must be masked and seated with their parent/guardian as part of a family cohort to attend.
Thanks to Mr. Stoyles for his research and time spent setting up a live stream for the game. Should the live stream stop working please return to the youtube link and fresh stream will be launched shortly.
