A Note from Mrs. Dado
I've had the honor of working in the Valparaiso Community School district for the past 10 years and have served in many different roles at both the elementary and middle school levels. In 2015 I served as Flint Lake Elementary Dean and am thrilled to come back "home" and have the opportunity to work with such a hard working and dedicated group of individuals.
Back to school time is always filled with many emotions. There is the excitement of new beginnings, the nostalgia of a summer gone by, and the anticipation of wonderful opportunities to come. Please know that I am here to support your children throughout this time of transition and assist all in making this an amazing school year. I look forward to seeing and meeting you at some of the upcoming events that are detailed below.
As you know, my family is expecting the arrival of our sweet baby boy any day now. Mrs. Phyllis Allison and I continue to work closely together to prepare for a great kick off to our year. We look forward to partnering with you in the coming year to develop a relationship that will assist in the growth of your child/children. Should you ever have questions, concerns or are in need of further support, please do not hesitate to be in touch.
Again, welcome to the 2019-20 school year. We are so happy that you're here with us!

Flint Lake Administration
Meet Mrs. Dado
I’m Calli Dado, and this is my first year as principal of Flint Lake. Prior to that, I have served as principal of Central, Assistant Principal of Ben Franklin Middle School, Dean of Students at Flint Lake, a Title I teacher, as well as a classroom teacher in grades K and 1. My husband, Rob, and I have been married for 4 years. We have a sweet and sassy 2 year old daughter, Mila, and are expecting a sweet baby boy the beginning of August. Spending time outdoors, listening to live music, and reading are just a few of my other interests outside of school. I’m so honored to once again be a part of the Flint Lake family, and I am very excited about our school year ahead.
Meet Mrs. Allison
My name is Phyllis Allison and I am honored to be serving as the Interim Principal for Mrs. Dado during the first semester of this school year. I have taught for 16 years and served as an elementary principal for 24 years in Porter County. I have been retired for the last five years. I have enjoyed spending time with my husband of 36 years, our four children and their spouses, and our 12 grandchildren. My husband and I have enjoyed traveling the past five years. Spending time with my grandchildren, pool time in the summer, reading and cross-stitch are a few of the things I enjoy doing with my free time. Having subbed for my daughter-in-law at Cook’s Corner for several weeks, I realized immediately how special the Valparaiso Schools are. I am very excited to be a part of the Valpo tradition as we launch this 2019-20 school year.
I look forward to meeting with all the families of Flint Lake.
I’m sure this will be a fantastic year!
