Happy New Year!
We have successfully completed an in-person semester of school during 2020 - hooray! We're hoping for another great semester.
Senior Holiday Light Project
The senior class decorated the trees in front of the school to add some holiday cheer to the school grounds.
8th grade Earthquake project
In mid-December, earthquakes we're causing havoc in the junior high science classroom. Students had spent some time creating earthquake-proof structures using design elements they had studied. The kids' structures were tested out on Mr. Nelson's earthquake simulator.
5th-8th Grade Math - Hour Code
Students in Mrs. Pratt's Math class completed over 120 hours of coding during the week of Dec 7-11! Students earned individual certificates as they completed activities. Students learned how circuits work, how to code pixels, and also explored other coding projects on code.org/learn.
Freshman Penny Boats
The freshman students were tasked with making boats using a limited supply of materials. Each boat had to hold at least 30 pennies. Emmett and Carter won with a total of 55 pennies.
8th Grade Egg Drop
Students worked in pairs to create a stable container to transport an egg safely to the ground from various heights. Many creative contraptions were made and most kept the egg safe.
