IMPORTANT CHANGE IN ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
Starting Wednesday, September 13th our arrival and dismissal is changing. The district has asked each school to analize their procedures and decrease the number of entrances/exits. Most schools throughout the district have only 1 or 2 points of entry. Currently NYE has 5. To increase your child’s and our staff’s safety, starting 9.13.23 we will eliminate door 3. This will mean NYE will only have 4 points of entry. Please review this plan with out community during curriculum night. I am asking that everyone adds the map to their presentation.
Moving forward we will follow this plan.
Bus riders – no change. All bus riders will enter and exit through door 13.
Car riders – no change. All car riders will enter and exit through door 11.
Students in our self-contained programs are the ONLY individuals allowed to enter and exit through door 1. The main entrance. Any walkers who attempt to enter or exit through this door will be redirected to the back of the school to door 6.
Walkers – will enter and exit through door 6
If your child is a walker, please plan on meeting them on the blacktop. We ask that ONLY kindergarten parents move/stand towards the door. This will allow our teachers to quickly connect each kindergarten parent with their child. If this impacts your child’s arrival or dismissal, we ask that you talk to your child about the upcoming change. We will also review the change during curriculum night.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child’s safety is the priority.
PBIS Back to School Assembly
Today all our Young Dolphins participated in our back-to-school positive behavior assembly.
(PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students' behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. Ask your Dolphin about all the amazing this they can earn by being respectful, responsible, and safe.
NYE is looking for a NYE parent or community member to represent our school by attending the PDAC meetings this year! Interested? Please email erin_rodriguez@ipsd.org.
