IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO BUY YOUR TICKET TO ENTER THE RUBBER DUCK RACE....

Come join the festivities this coming Saturday, May 20 at the Mountain Laurel Festival. Join Volunteers for Literacy at 2:00 pm to watch hundreds of little yellow rubber ducks race toward the finish line. Volunteers for Literacy offers free GED and English classes in the community.

The Habersham County Family and Children Services office is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. 706-754-2148

Habersham Life Family Resource Center in Cornelia is re-opening to help provide support and services to families.

The above brochure lists the dates and times the Habersham Life Office will be opened. Toccoa Life is responsible for re-opening the Habersham Life office. Both locations offer the same services except the Toccoa office offers free ultrasounds which the Habersham Life office is hoping to add to their list of services. The Toccoa Life brochure is listed below.

Addiction Recovery Centers

The below information was shared by the Department of Public Health. Please look at the Habersham County Family Connection Resource Brochure listed near the beginning of this newsletter for additional programs and services with some of them located in our county or in the surrounding counties.

April 25 - Goodwill Resource Fair - Felony Re-Entry program

Habersham County Family Connection shared information on the various agencies and resources through the community resource brochures. Pictured is William Brothers, with Toccoa Life. Toccoa Life is reopening the Habersham Life Family Resource Center, located at 215 Hodges St. Suite 101 Cornelia, GA. (See info above). Mr. Williams met with the various agencies who attended the resource fair to learn more about the agencies in Habersham County and share information about re-opening the Habersham Life Center.

Habersham County Chamber of Commerce - SOAR Women's Group

Freedom Hill Recovery Home, Circle of Hope, Family Resource Center, and Habersham County Family Connection were recipients of various donations from this group. Habersham County Family Connection received diapers, wipes, and baby toys for the Young Parent Support Group at MECHS. Linda Johnson, Executive Director of Family Resource Center, provides a Support Group Facilatator, Sarah May, to assist with instruction and resources to the Young Parents. The Young Parent Support Group meets the 1st & 3rd Wednesday at 4:30 pm at Mountain Education Charter High School.
