Note from the Principal

Good morning!

This week is our last five day week before Christmas break. The students are getting excited, but we still have work to be done! While, thankfully, our community has not been directly affected so far, please be aware that COVID-19 cases are on the rise. It is important that we continue taking the proper precautions to keep our school open and our students learning in-person. If your child is sick, please keep them home.

If you have any questions regarding our COVID-19 procedures, please do not hesitate to reach out.

2022-2023 Re-Enrollment

Don't forget! The deadline for current students to re-enroll for the upcoming year prior to opening spots to new families is January 31st.

Cell Phone Reminders

Cell phone, smart watches, and other electronic communication devices should not be brought to school. If they are needed for after school purposes, they must be off and stored during school. If they are seen or heard, the parent will need to recover the cell phone from Mrs. Lewis at the end of the school day.

HSA Meeting- The next meeting is this Wednesday at 7 p.m. The minutes from the previous meeting are attached for your review.

Entrance and Exit Safety

Please be aware that our school has only one exit and one entrance, and using the incorrect access way is very dangerous for our community traffic. Please ONLY enter the school parking lot through the lower entrance and exit through the upper exit.

Additionally, we are looking for assistance in acquiring additional traffic control on 202 (speed camera, rumble strips, etc.). If you have any connections which may be of assistance, please contact Mrs. Lewis.

Dillman Family

Prayers are needed for Michael Dillman, who passed away suddenly last week at the age of 22. His brother, Ryan Dillman, is an alumnus of St. Mary of the Assumption School.

Eternal rest grant unto Michael, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.

through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Knights of Columbus Poster Contest

The St. Mary's of the Assumption Chapter of the Knights of Columbus are once again holding a "Keep Christ in Christmas" poster contest this year.

The contest is for all students of St. Mary's between the ages of 5 and 14.

There are three age groups:

Group 1: Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

Group 2: 3rd Grade through 5th Grade

Group 3: 6th Grade through 8th Grade

The winner for each age group will receive a $25 Amazon gift card

Entries are be due next Friday, December 17. The winners will be announced on Tuesday December 21st.

Rules:

Poster must reflect the theme of Keep Christ in Christmas.
Each poster should be the original work (including concept, layout, slogan and any visual images) of the student submitting the poster.
Poster should be approximately 11x17 inches (or smaller). However, we will not disqualify based on poster size.
If pastels, chalk or charcoal are used, the poster must be laminated or covered with clear plastic.
Each poster must be submitted with a Knights of Columbus Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest entry form (attached to this email & I will drop off hard copies at the School tomorrow).
The name and age of the entrant should be printed on the reverse side of the poster in case the poster and entry form get separated.
Posters cannot be returned in most cases.
