It's been a lot quieter around the Trollwood campus this week without all of our students here for classes! But it hasn't been totally lonely this week; Totally Trollwood Musical kicked off with its orientation on Wednesday in the Scheels Living Room. TTM is in the midst of auditions for Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition on Thursday and Friday. Once auditions are wrapped up, TTM will start rehearsals next Monday, July 11 at Fargo North High School!

Performances are August 2 & 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. We are using a new ticketing service this year and all tickets for the Totally Trollwood Musical will be individually reserved! Looking ahead, Trollwood Children's Theatre and The Trollwood Players are both set to begin rehearsal on Monday, July 18. And ArtSpark is back for it's July sessions on July 18-22 and July 25-29.

Calling ALL STUDENTS who planned to or were thinking about participating in the Mainstage Musical this summer, whether in the tech crew, orchestra, or cast! Trollwood is hosting a social get-together at 6:30 p.m. next Thursday, July 14 in the Scheels Living Room inside Marcil Commons to honor what would have been the opening night of Singin' in the Rain.

Even though there isn't an opening night to celebrate this year, we still want to celebrate all of the dedicated students who had intended to commit their time and effort to the show and those who plan to do so next year!

During the gathering, the movie clips that have been created for the 2023 Mainstage Musical production of Singin' in the Rain will be shown and the film version of Singin' in the Rain will be on for much of the night. Make sure to come with an empty stomach because Trollwood will be providing pizza, sub sandwiches, and beverages. Come and enjoy the company of the students who would have been involved in the musical this summer.

An amazing group of teachers guided the students in their growth as artists this summer at Trollwood. This group of teachers was so wonderful and we can't say enough about how much they helped and connected with the kids. Trollwood appreciates its teachers! Each week, Trollwood Performing Arts School will celebrate its senior students through feature articles. You will get to know each of our seniors and what their plans are for life after high school. Seniors were also recognized in a ceremony during Sun Celebration. Please join us in congratulating them and wishing them luck in their future endeavors!

Ellie Gillen, a Fargo North High School graduate, has been involved in Trollwood for 10 years. She was on the costume crew for the Mainstage Musical Disney’s Freaky Friday in 2019 and has been cast in Singin' in the Rain for 2023. She took classes in tap dancing, sketch comedy, improv, and vocal music. Click here to learn more about Ellie!

Drake Aasen, a West Fargo High School graduate, was a member of the cast of Cinderella in 2021 and has been cast in the upcoming production of Singin’ in the Rain for 2023. He says his time at Trollwood has helped him to develop a great work ethic. Click here to learn more about Drake!

With a musical set in Hollywood, naturally there has to be some filmmaking glitz and glam. The show features movies within the musical. The Singin' in the Rain team, led by director Michael Walling, will be filming these movies this summer! Check back here for weekly previews of the casts of the movies within the musical. This week we're featuring Keagen Kratcha and Noah Meline as The Villain Musketeers in the movie The Royal Rascal in the 2023 production of Singin' in the Rain.

In the words of Singin' in the Rain's Cosmo Brown, "The show must go on! Come rain, come shine, come snow, come sleet! The show must go on!" Even though the Mainstage Musical is postponed a year, the Singin' in the Rain crew is still hard at work preparing for Summer 2023!

Now that we're into July, it's a good time to look back and remember all of the memories from Trollwood Academy and Totally Trollwood Academy in June. Check out some of our favorite photos from this summer so far below!

Trollwood Performing Arts School offers rewarding volunteer opportunities working with positive and fun people to benefit a great cause! There’s a place for everyone at Trollwood! You can volunteer in any area that interests you and no experience is required. We’d love for YOU to join the Trollwood volunteer force. Without our dedicated volunteers, Trollwood would not be able to have such a positive impact on the youth of our region.

We are seeking volunteers to help with costume alterations and ushers for Totally Trollwood Musical, Trollwood Children's Theatre, and Trollwood Players in July and early August.

Trollwood Academy and Totally Trollwood Academy wrapped up their summers last week at Sun Celebration. It was such a fun night, the memories keep on rolling through our brains.
