Welcome to the Whittier Community Connections monthly newsletter. Here you will find information about the special gatherings we have planned for this month in the Whittier area. You will also find links to the FTE sign ups for each gathering. Please reach out with any questions. We look forward to facilitating connections, inspiring community, and enhancing the adventure of learning!

**CC Events are not drop-off nor are the CC staff responsible for supervising students at these events. Parents are responsible for providing supervision of their children for every Community Connection activity, event and field trip.**

• Parents - These are not drop off events. Parents will join in the fun for all events and field trips.
• Nut Aware - Please be aware we may have students with allergies - please bring nut-free snacks and food with you.
• Sick Children - We know no one wants to miss our gatherings, but keeping ill students at home protects everyone, including those with fragile immune systems. Thank you for not spreading germs.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Blanket Drive for IMPACT DAY. We were able to donate 50 blankets to the First Day homeless shelter in Whittier. That wouldn't be possible without your help! Thank you!!

Come join us at Michigan Park on Tuesday, January 14th from 10am to 12pm. We have a fun morning filled with snowmen, snowballs and all things winter. Your children will not want to miss it.

Come join us for an exciting, educational and up-close look at reptiles on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020. We will split our group into two groups. Each group will get an hour show and an hour to experience the reptile learning stations. This event will be from 10 am to 12 pm. We ask that those who attend arrive by no later than 9:45 am to ensure that everyone is checked-in and ready to start the show by 10 am.

February 11th from 10 am to 12 pm we will be at Michigan Park for our "Will you be my Valentine?" Event. We will have a fun-filled day celebrating Valentine's Day with our Inspire friends. Your child will get to make a valentine for someone special, listen to stories about kindness, enjoy a yummy treat, and much much more. Join us for a special day with Community Connections Whittier.

Come experience the Ultimate Srircha Tour on Tuesday, February 4th, 2020. This is a free one hour tour of the famous Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce factory. This will be a fun, mind-blowing personable experience that will leave you amazed and humbled to understand the hard work and dedication behind the production of the rooster sauce, awesome sauce and SRIRACHA sauce. Space is very limited, so do not wait to reserve your tickets. We will be taking two groups; Tour Group #1 at 10am and Tour Group #2 at at 12:30pm.
