WOW!!!! What an amazing week at Evergreen! It was wonderful to have our students back at Evergreen making new friends, meeting new staff members and making connections with their teachers!

As a reminder please no parking in the parking lot from 8:00-8:30. If you would like to walk your child to the back playground please park on the side streets and walk over. After school if you are walking to pick up your child please make sure to wait for your child along the sidewalk by the Evergreen sign. Our crossing guards will safely cross your child when it is safe to cross.

We also ask for drop off and pick up please stay in your cars and make sure to pay attention to our crossing guards. Our main goal is to keep everyone safe! A staff member can help find your child at the end of the day if you feel they can not see your car. We ask that you just roll down your window and ask us to radio for your child.

Our two center lanes are drive through lanes only. Please do not park in the center two lanes. If you would like to park and pick up your child, please park on the street and meet them at the Evergreen sign along the sidewalk.

When driving through our drive through lanes, please pull all the way up and make sure your child is only exiting your car in the center crosswalk, not into traffic.

Thank you so much for your patience with our buses learning their routes and the students this week. We have been working very closely with the bus company to help solve the timing issue on Bus 1. We have had some complications with our communication system. Our sincerest apologies for the inconsistent communication on the bus delays. That issue has been resolved.

Here is a phone number for the bus company,630-584-1658, if you are unable to reach anyone in the Evergreen office after school hours. This number can be used to determined where the bus is on its route. If you have a question about your child's bus stop, please direct those inquiries to the Evergreen office.

If your child is a bus rider, please discuss with them and remind them how to cross in front of a bus. Students should go to the end of the yellow lever on the front of the bus and look at the bus driver. The driver will let the student know that it is okay to cross. When your child gets to the end of the bus, they need to look both ways before fully crossing the street. This is a very important safety conversation to have with your child!

This week we have passed out lunches to students that have free/reduced lunch fees. If your child has been receiving a lunch this week and you do not want your child to have this lunch, please contact the office to let us know.

As we progress through the year, we like to share photos and events of the amazing things happening at Evergreen. We have had a few hiccups with our online registration process, so we want to make sure that we are following you and your families wishes in regards to taking your child's photograph and posting it on social media or this newsletter. If you DO NOT want your child to be photographed at school, please call the office to let us know!

Please no parking in the parking lot from 8:00-8:30. This includes all Evergreen preschool, Best Buddy Preschool and all other Evergreen parents. If you would like to walk your child to their teacher please park across the street and walk over. Thank you for your understanding.

Just a reminder if you are parked in the bus lane please make sure you move your car by 3pm. Our buses need to have time to line up for our school dismissal.

If you are parked in the middle drive through lanes please make sure you do not park and leave your car after 3pm. If you are waiting for other students that dismiss later make sure you are in your car and pulled all the way up in our pull through lane. Older siblings will be dismissed on the first bell and can meet their kindergarten sibling by their classroom doors. A kindergarten teacher will then make sure they walk out together.

This year at Evergreen we are recognizing students that have gone above and beyond in showing their kindness, grit, perseverance and leadership.

If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, please call the Evergreen Office, 630-876-7810, to report your child's absence no later than 8:00 AM the day of the absence.

Please join the Benjamin School District 25 community outside of Benjamin Middle School for a night of celebration for the 2022-2023 school year. The event is from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
