Congratulatuons to the JH girls basketball team on their 2nd place finish in the Summit Conference Tournament. The Lady Bears had two strong wins against the number 4 seed and the number 1 seed before dropping a hard fought battle in the championship game. Great job ladies and coaches!

Helping Your Child Learn Science

Conway High School student Kolt Burgess attends LTCC (Lebanon Technology and Career Center) part of the day. As part of this experience, Kolt completed a project where he designed and 3D printed a doghouse for Esther Elementary therapy dog, Yahtzee. The doghouse will be used to store paper bones that list and recognize the kind and caring students of Esther. Students being recognized will get their pictures taken with Yahtzee and the doghouse.

Conway High School Class of 1990

Biography:

After graduating in 1990, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry at University of Missouri-Columbia. I then spend 6 1/2 years as a research assistant at Children's Mercy Hospital (studying anti-cancer compounds) and UMKC (neuroscience research). I decided to go back to school and graduated UMKC dental school in 2004. I've been in Ozark, Missouri since then practicing general dentistry at Excel Dental. I'm married to Matthew Davis (from Lebanon) and we have 4 kids, ranging from 13-16 years old, including a set of twins.

Questions:

How did Laclede Co. R-1 help you with your current path?

As a parent, I look back to my time at Conway schools and remember what a wholesome environment with really great teachers! Moving to a large college after graduating from Conway was quite an adjustment--but any one can do it if they set their mind to it! Find something you enjoy and pursue it with all your heart.

What advice would you give to current Laclede Co. R-1 students?

Find something you enjoy and pursue it with all your heart. My advice? Dream BIG!
