Dear AHS Families,
It is time to register your returning student(s) for the 2022-2023 school year. Similar to last year, this year’s registration will be on-line. Please note that families returning to ASD no longer need to provide documents for Proof of Residency.
We ask that you use this opportunity to carefully review all of your personal information and make sure it is correct and up to date. This will ensure you are receiving all pertinent information for your student(s) via email, phone or text and we can reach you in the event of an emergency.
POWERSCHOOL FORMS & CONTACT INFORMATION
There are now two ways to fill out returning student forms. New this year, you can fill out these forms using your PowerSchool App on your phone or tablet. This will work best for parents who have minor changes for the 2022-23 school year.
- To register using a personal computer follow these directions.
- To register using the online app follow these directions.
Make sure you fill out the forms for each student by clicking on their individual name tabs. Your registration is not complete until the online forms have been reviewed and accepted.
Please contact our school Registrar, Jolaine Pfeifer (jopfeifer@aspenk12.net) to register a new student at Aspen High School.
SCHEDULES
Class schedules will be available on August 8th to students who have completed all registration requirements. They can be found in PowerSchool under the “Student Reports” tab on the left hand side.
Counselors will have virtual meetings with students to discuss scheduling questions and make schedule changes, therefore, SCHEDULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. For details regarding available times, check out our Counseling Page on our website.
You may also reach out to your counselor by email with additional questions or concerns.

SCHOOL & CLASS FEES
Students will be assessed the following fees:
$50 English Book Fee that will cover all the English Language Arts texts the students are required to read throughout the year. Students will keep the books.
Experiential Education (Ex Ed) Fee based on their placement.
$20 Activities Fee that will cover access to all home athletic and other events for students.
9th graders will be assessed a $30 Rocketbook Fee which replaces the Printing Fee. Students will receive a reusable Rocketbook Academic Planner, which they will keep.
Other specific class / course fees will be assessed after the September 16th add/drop deadline.
We are asking that all outstanding fees be paid before school begins on August 24th. Fees and funding lunch accounts can be paid through e~Funds:
Click HERE for information on how to set up an e~Funds account
Click HERE for the e~Funds payment website
You can still make payments in the main office with cash or check, but setting up an account and paying in advance will save time and give you an opportunity to see a breakdown of your fees in advance.
ATHLETICS
Fall Athletics begin August 8th. Boys’ Golf begins August 1st. Please click here to complete the student - athlete registration. All students must have a physical to attend practice. New this year, athletic fees will be charged through rSchool.
PARTICIPATION / TEAM GEAR / SUPPLEMENTAL FEES
Student-athletes pay a fee for each sport in which they participate.
There is a $150 participation fee for each sport. The family maximum for the school year is $450.
There will be an additional $100 fee that will be applied to your student-athlete's Team Gear / Supplemental fee. This is because they will have additional fees which we refer to as “Team Gear / Supplemental” fees. These “Team Gear/Supplemental” fees are for items the student-athletes get to keep at the end of the season like backpacks, sweatshirts, etc. These upfront costs will reduce your end of the year balance.
There will be some overnight stays at designated hotels/lodging due to travel time and location of the scheduled games. Student-athletes and parents/guardians will incur the hotel expenses (excluding the state playoffs appearances). These fees will be added to the balance owed along with any remaining “Team Gear / Supplemental” fees at the end of the season or school year.
UNIFORM / JERSEY AGREEMENT
All Aspen High School issued athletic uniforms/jerseys should be returned after the completion of the season. Students who fail to return their uniform within 6 days of their last competition will be charged a fee (dependent on uniform cost) to their Funds school account.
Returning Equipment
Student-athletes’ failure to return the equipment and uniforms within 6 days of the season end, shall be charged:
$200 per jersey
$150 per pants and/or $100 per shorts
$350 per team equipment (i.e., shoulder pads, hockey gear, helmets)
FREE & REDUCED LUNCH
We know that many families rely on schools for meals. We encourage families to submit a Free & Reduced Meal application, which provides families with access to additional benefits as well. Please know that even if you qualified in previous years, an application must be submitted every school year.
To access the application and instructions click HERE. You must complete the paperwork and submit it along with supporting documentation such as 2021 tax returns or the last two paycheck / unemployment stubs in order to qualify.
CHROMEBOOKS
AHS follows a Bring Your Own Device (BOYD) policy which can be found by clicking HERE. Chromebooks can be checked out by students who do not have their own device. Please review the AHS student Chromebook take-home program overview and fill out THIS FORM to check out a Chromebook. A $65 yearly fee will apply.
DISENROLLMENT
If your student is not returning to AHS this year, please complete this Summer Withdrawal Form. Jolaine Pfeifer, our registrar, can be reached at 970-925-3760 ext. 1177 if you have any questions regarding the withdrawal of your student.
HOMESCHOOLING
If homeschooling is your chosen method, the district must receive a letter of notification 14 days before beginning the home school program. The written notification must include the name, age, place of residence, and number of attendance hours for each child that will be participating in the home school program. Written notification must be re-submitted to a Colorado school district each year. This is especially important for student athletes playing CHSAA sports.
Please send the letter to Heidi Godomsky hgodomsky@aspenk12.net and complete the Summer Withdrawal Form.
