2/20-2/24: President's Week Break - No school

2/27: Minimum Day (Dismissal 12:45 for Kindergarten, 12:55 for 1st-6th Grades)

3/6-3/10: Spring Conference Week - Minimum Days all week (Dismissal 12:45 for Kindergarten, 12:55 for 1st-6th Grades)

4/3-4/10: Spring Break - No School

5/11: Minimum Day (Dismissal 12:45 for Kindergarten, 12:55 for 1st-6th Grades)

5/11: Open House Night

5/15: Minimum Day (Dismissal 12:45 for Kindergarten, 12:55 for 1st-6th Grades)

5/29: Memorial Day - No School

6/1: Last Day of School/Minimum Day (Dismissal 12:45 for Kindergarten, 12:55 for 1st-6th Grades)

Sierra's Tier I PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) teacher team is the team partly responsible for the awesome positive culture at Sierra and ensuring we have ways to promote and acknowledge the positive learning and prosocial behavior (our S.W.I.M. expectations) that they need to succeed in school. Currently, your sharks get to save up Shark Shoutouts to earn rewards in class or in our "Shark Shop," and our team is looking to expand reward options. If you would like to help with this, we are seeking donations of gift certificates and/or $5 gift cards. Examples of gift certificates include free frozen yogurt, kids' meals, etc. $5 gift cards to Starbucks, Dutch Bros, Crumbl, Chik-fil-A, etc. would be appreciated, too! Donations can be turned in to the school office to the attention of the PBIS Team.

AUCTION NEWS

Ticket sales start Monday, February 6! Watch your inbox over the coming days for the ticket link and more details on the event OR follow us on Facebook or Instagram for updates.

Class baskets: To make this fundraising event a success, we need your help with the classroom auction baskets. We ask that you send $10 per student, and the PTC Auction Committee will do all the work putting together the baskets. This donation is tax deductible!

We are collecting basket donations through February 28th, and it’s easy to donate:

• Click to donate with a credit card online

• Venmo @SierraElementary (please add a comment re: auction basket donation).

• Drop off cash or a check donation at the front office or send it in with your child’s Friday folder.

All proceeds from the auction go towards Sierra’s highly sought after IB program, Spanish for all students, technology upgrades, PBIS, teacher accounts, and much more. Thank you for your help!

Please contact us if you have other items to donate for the auction: ski tickets/lessons, getaways, golf outings, restaurant/winery gift cards, services, swag, experiences (Sunsplash, sport games, Great Wolf Lodge, etc.).

To ensure compliance with RUSD and the state of California's volunteer policies, parents who wish to volunteer on campus during the school day must have:

RUSD Policy:

• Fingerprinting completed for RUSD specifically. Prior fingerprinting done for any agency or organization other than RUSD will not be accepted. Fingerprinting takes approximately 72 hours to clear.
• Current Tuberculosis Test (TB). TB tests expire every 4 years and must be renewed in order to volunteer. TB Tests take approximately 48-72 hours for results and results must be brought to the office.
