The mission of WMS is to ensure that every student has the skills to build a strong academic, athletic, and artistic foundation by providing a rigorous, standards-based curriculum that meets individual needs and is delivered in a safe environment by a dedicated, caring staff.

Students who completed the Clemson/Carolina "Read Your Way to the Big Game" Reading Challenge had the opportunity to travel to the campus of Coastal Carolina University on Monday, November 25th. While there, they toured Brooks Stadium (including the season ticket holder lounge); Brooks Spring Stadium (where they had a chance to sit in the Chanticleer's dugout), and the HTC Center. After an all-you-can-eat lunch at Hicks Dining Hall, students returned to school for contest prizes and free tickets to the CCU/Texas State game on Saturday, November 30th, courtesy of Coastal Carolina University Athletics.

Seventh and eighth-grade students were recognized for their academic achievements during our Celebration of Success on Tuesday, November 26th. Students were recognized for their participation in the Fire/Safety Art Contest and the Clemson/Carolina Reading Challenge. Awards were given to the Characters of the Month and those receiving All A's and A/B Honor Roll. The wonderful Wildcat Band also delighted us with The Star-Spangled Banner, From Now On , The Bare Necessities & Brave.

WMS began their basketball season on Wednesday, December 4th at Georgetown Middle School. The boys' lost a tough game, 34-19; while the girls' defeated the Bulldogs 33-9.

The football banquet has been rescheduled to Sunday, January 5th at 4:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Waccamaw High School.

Auditions for High School Musical will take place on Wednesday, December 11th. Please see Ms. Ownbey for your audition packet.

Junior Beta is sponsoring this year's Toys for Tots Toy Drive. Please bring in any new, unwrapped toys you'd like to donate to the children of Georgetown County by December 13th. Each 6th-period teacher will collect the donations in the hopes that their class will donate the most toys and receive an ice cream party!

Please brighten a child's holiday and donate to Toys for Tots.

The band is selling the discount card you see below for $10. See any band member to make your purchase.

If you have any pictures of our middle school students competing in Swim, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Girls Varsity Tennis, JV Cheer and Competition Cheer that you would be willing to share, we'd greatly appreciate it. We want to make sure that all our students are recognized for their athletic achievements in the yearbook.
