I would like to take a moment to welcome you to Bowie Junior High! Whether it is welcome back or welcome for the first time, we are thrilled to have you. Meet the Teacher!!!
We will open our doors at 6PM sharp to welcome all of our 2023-24 students and their families. We ask that you enter through the cafeteria entrance to pick up your schedule. Please remember to complete your online enrollment before you arrive to help speed up the process. If you need help with enrollment, we will be here to assist you. We look forward to seeing everyone!
Changes For Student Laptops
We will have class sets of laptops this year at BJH! No longer will you have to bring the forgotten laptop or charger to the office for your teen. The acceptable use policy and the responsibility for damages will still exist, there will just be less unsupervised time for the child on the device. We hope that this alleviates some of the problems that were reported by both staff members and parents alike. As stated above, if you have any questions about this change, please don't hesitate to reach out.
BJH Drop Off and Pick Up
If you have a girl that is practicing for an in-season sport, please drop them off in the bus lane for practice. All other students may use Tarrant street near the cafeteria entrance for their drop off. We ask that our 6th grade or new students use the Tarrant St. drop off location for at least the first two weeks of school, so that your child is more confident and comfortable navigating his or her way to the cafeteria.
If you are a parent of a 7th or 8th grader you may choose to use the Tarrant St OR the bus lane for drop off. When using the bus lane as a drop off, please instruct your child to report immediately to the auditorium or cafeteria.
