Meet Our New Staff!

Ms. Rita Woodraska teaches English II Lit & English III. She is a recent graduate of Mount Marty in Yankton, but is originally from Valentine, NE. Ms. Woodraska is enjoying learning about her students and her new community.


Mr. Mitchell Holler teaches World History & Geography. A Langford graduate, Mr. Holler spent the last four years teaching in McLaughlin. His favorite part about teaching is when students are curious and ask questions.


Ms. Judy Ann Chan teaches Biology & Physical Science. She graduated from Visayas State University with a degree in Biology and taught for five years in the Philippines before coming to Sisseton. Her favorite part of teaching is seeing students change and grow.

Educators Rising Event at SDSU

SHS students traveled to Brookings on Monday to learn more about the teaching profession. They attended break out sessions, listened to a keynote speaker and did a scavenger hunt to learn more about SDSU's campus. SDSU ice cream and a trip to the South Dakota Art Museum helped round out a fun day.

Biology + Art!

Biology Students got up close and personal with nature by viewing stomata and then painting, using the chlorophyll found in leaves.

Stay caught up with your homework and grades by participating in Homework Help every Thursday in the SHS library from 3:30-5:00 pm. Come for a quiet space to work and extra support from teachers.
