I was absent from school on all of the audition days:

If you are in school on Tuesday you can audition before or after school. If you are in school on Wednesday or Thursday, you can audition before school. If you are absent the days of the auditions, you may also send in a video by December 27 to tbroeker@d64.org

Vocal Power Classes performed Jazz songs this week, learning how to syncopate, scat, and scoop music. Composers created original raps. In Music 6, students composed rhythm compositions using classroom instruments and began the Melody Unit. The sixth graders are learning solfège, an international vocal music language. Keyboard students learned a holiday song celebrating the Holiday of their choice. They had 365 days of holidays to choose from which led to an interesting introduction to holidays celebrated around the world. The most selected song was Happy Birthday, which one student explained "was his favorite holiday of the year."

We will rehearse for the Winter Assembly on Tuesday, December 20 after school from 3:00 - 3:15. We will simply run through the music that you will be singing on Friday!

Singers should go straight to the GYM at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 22 . DO NOT GO TO HOMEROOM FIRST! You need to be in place before the classes come to the GYM. Please wear red, white, and/or black. This is a traditional dress up day so plan accordingly!
