Announcements & Updates

- Important information for 5th grade parents: To accommodate Move Up Day, where 4th graders visit Mountain View, tour the building, and meet with the 5th grade team, Wednesday, May 26 will be a 1:00 p.m. dismissal for all 5th graders. There will be no "at home extension." Administration appreciates your support and understanding.


- If your child (grades 5-7) did not complete the 21-22 Related Arts course request process via the Parent Portal, please contact Mrs. Toth (toth@mendhamboroschools.org). Students who do not submit requests will have a hold placed on their 4th marking period report card.


- Gill St. Bernards is offering a Summer Institute where students can review core content and participate in weekly enrichment classes. Rising 8th graders (Class of 2022) are eligible to participate. Click here to explore the offerings: https://www.gsbschool.org/summer/summer-institute.

A note from Mrs. Lanka

This week in Advisory, students discussed what it means to develop a SMART goal. Next, they identified a personal goal they hope to achieve for either the last marking period of school, for the summer, or even next year. Ask your child what goal he or she set for themselves, the steps they will take to reach it, and how you might help them attain it!


Calling all 8th Graders! MHS is hosting an "8th Grade Night Out" on May 25 at 5:30pm. Your child will meet other 8th graders and current high school mentors who will share the inside scoop on how to be successful in high school. See the attached flyer for more details and to register. All attendees will receive a free MHS T-shirt!


Finally, if your 14-year old hopes to find a summer job, please refer to the email I sent to all 8th grade parents on April 28 about how to apply for Working Papers.
