ALL BULLDOG
October 16-21, 2023 Marysville Jr/Sr High School
Principal's Note
Even though our Thursday was busy with athlete send-offs and a league cross country meet, the real highlight was in the morning during AEP. We hosted our county high school juniors and seniors for our annual "Civic Engagement Day." We began with a great message from Secretary of State Scott Schwab who challenged students to get involved in their communities to really make a difference. Then students 18 years old by November 7 were allowed to register to vote, and then all students got to vote the real ballot, but in a mock election. Students got to hear from county commissioners and our two mayoral candidates before making their choices. It was really cool hearing how quiet the auditorium became when County Clerk Sandy Wilson read the mock election results. We are grateful for all those involved in making this event possible. It is so important to educate our students in how they can make a difference when they leave. There is so much more to being a good citizen than just finding a good job, especially if you want a community to thrive. We hope this message reached you all!
