A Note from Mrs. Lake & Mrs. Gross
Dear Grassy Creek Families,
Happy February! This past month has gone quickly, and the midterm point of this quarter is Friday, February 2. Please check your child's academic progress on ParentVue. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's teacher.
Thank you for supporting the Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation's Major Saver fundraiser. Our PTO receives a portion of the sales. The CPEF uses the funds to provide scholarships for students and grants for teachers. The Grassy Creek PTO has sent home information about a flower bulb sale. This event runs from January 29- February 9. The class with the most sales will earn a pizza party. PTO is sponsoring this fundraiser in order to provide activities and snacks during our field day in May.
The fourth grade team will host their service learning project the final week of this month: Riley Week! Look for more information to be shared about dress up days.
Have a great month!
Mrs. Lake, Principal

Digital Devices
Personal Communication Device Guidelines (PCDG) CPCSC acknowledges and respects that many parents expect their students to keep and use a mobile phone or personal communication device for various reasons. Students must turn the devices off during the school day and keep them stored in their backpacks, their cubbies, or lockers. Use of a personal communication device at CPCSC elementary schools is a violation and should only be used in the case of an emergency.
Please help with making sure your student understands these guidelines. You can read more on page 33 of our student handbook.

Resource Drop In Day-February 13
See the below message from Upstream Prevention!
"We are excited to announce that Upstream Prevention (in collaboration with the Johnson County Health Department) is hosting a monthly Resource Drop-in Day for residents of Johnson County! We aim to connect residents with a variety of resources in a friendly and welcoming "one-stop shop" type of atmosphere. It will be open to all Johnson County residents with a focus on supporting those who are most under-resourced, have historically experienced barriers to care, or have otherwise been marginalized (e.g., individuals with justice involvement, poverty, homelessness, substance use disorders, or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders). The Resource Drop-in Day will take place monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month . Time: Event will take place from 3p-6p. Location: Johnson County Fairgrounds, 250 Fairground Street, Franklin, IN 46131 in Herring Hall If you have any questions, please include them in the last field on this form or contact Erica Ratz at erica@upstreamprevention.org. Car Rider Information & Reminders
To improve traffic flow during arrival and dismissal at GCES, we would like families of GCES students to enter school grounds off of Worthsville Road onto Palmore Way (first entrance to CPMS.) Then take your first left before the tennis courts (turn left/west). Continue on the access road to the end of the sidewalk on the north side adjacent to door 8.. Staff members will walk out door 8 to welcome students into the building at 8:50. We will no longer use the front of the building for drop off. Cars should continue on straight to exit the lot.
Clark-Pleasant Early Learning Center is a part of GCES, and their arrival time is 8:45. These families will enter off Sheek Road and line up for drop off in the front of the building,
If students arrive after 9:05 a.m., an adult will need to park and sign their student in at the front office.
Car rider families should enter the same way for afternoon car rider pick up, but stop at the corner that leads to the front drive. A staff member will come out at approximately 3:50 to dismiss students. Students will exit out of door 4. Cars should pull up to the flag pole once dismissal begins.
ATTENTION: Parents of students that go to after school daycare!
If your student attends a daycare that is within our GCES boundary, you will need to complete an "alternate bus stop" form in order for your child to be dropped off at the correct stop. You can access that form here or contact our transportation office at 317-535-7255.
