4th Grade Science with Mr. McIntosh
Looking Back –
This week was an exploration of the features of organisms that help them to survive in their environments. We will look at specific and often peculiar characteristics and examine their function for that species. (See Looking Ahead below)
Looking Ahead –
This week will be our first look at genetics and some of the inherited traits that species pass on to their offspring. These will be contrasted with the learned traits and behaviors of various animals. Many fun facts and amazing observations will be made this week!
Creature of the week – The Monarch butterfly - Because we’ve been talking about instincts and learned behavior, I thought it might be cool to look at one of the more amazing migrations in nature in this video. Do some research about this astounding insect before our next class.
No assessment in the OLS.
