A huge #proudcardinal welcome to our new and returning staff members!
Let's get to know them!
*The hiring process for additional open positions is ongoing.*
Mrs. Marisa Calvert
Mrs. Calvert joins the Dryden Elementary Staff as a 5th-grade teacher. She is an Oakland University graduate starting her third year of teaching.
Why did you choose Dryden?
I chose Dryden because I love the feeling of a small town. I have always heard positive things about Dryden schools. I am excited to be a part of such a supportive and welcoming team!
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I am looking forward to meeting and building strong relationships with my students as well as my new colleagues. I am also excited to grow in my career as a teacher here in Dryden!
What would you like your new Dryden family to know about you?
I grew up in a big city in Texas, so I am soaking up all the small-town living! I enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors. We have been growing our farm, and it has been fun to learn along the way. I definitely love being in a small town compared to being in the city.
Mr. Andy Capelli
With five years of teaching experience, Mr. Capelli will be teaching 4th grade this year.
Why did you choose Dryden?
I have family in the area.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Getting to know everyone in the Dryden community.
What would you like your new Dryden family to know about you?
I am married with two young adult children and a Puggle named Beau.
Mrs. Ashley Gammon
You'll find Mrs. Gammon in the Dryden Junior/Senior High School library this year. She has spent many years volunteering at schools since her girls were little and is looking forward to getting to be part of the day-to-day activities that happen in the classroom and beyond.
Why did you choose Dryden?
I ❤️ Dryden! We chose this community to grow roots for our family after my husband retired from the Army after 20 years. I'm excited to call myself a #proudcardinal and get more involved within the community.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I am really looking forward to working with the youth within the community and am excited to be a part of their day at school and help wherever I can.
What would you like your new Dryden family to know about you?
I grew up in central Indiana, married my soldier, and spent many years exploring the world with his Army career. My three presidents Mckinley, Madison, and Monroe are what make my world go round. I’m always up for an adventure and love exploring new places! You will most likely find me on the beach searching for sea glass or watching a volleyball game because I am obsessed with the sport! I am so happy to be here!
Mr. John Klee
Welcome Mr. Klee, our new K-12 Music & Band Director!
Why did you choose Dryden?
I chose Dryden because I have learned that it is a wonderful community with bright students and many kind people. I wanted to be a part of a welcoming and tight-knit community where I could help bring a positive learning experience to all students!
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I am most looking forward to meeting all the students and teachers I'll be working with! Making connections with the students and staff is one of the best parts of teaching!
What would you like your new Dryden family to know about you?
I am an incredibly enthusiastic, energetic, and caring person! I am always happy to meet new people, and I will always make an effort to brighten people's days. I am a huge Detroit and Southern Miss sports fan who loves baseball, going to concerts, and staying active at the gym!
Mr. Kory Lohrmann
Mr. Lohrmann returns to Dryden after spending three years completing his Master of Arts in Political Science degree at Wayne State University. He is a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science with concentrations in Public Policy, Public Administration, and American Government and Politics. He is serving as the Director of Early College Programs as well as a Government & Economics Teacher. If it seems like he never left, that's probably because he has continued to lead the Cross Country program since 2016.
Why did you choose Dryden?
Dryden is a community that cares for and invests time and effort into its schools, children, and residents. It provides educational opportunities that many schools cannot such as individual attention, close educational relationships, and academic rigor.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I am most looking forward to being back in the building that I have been away from in the years that I was pursuing my Ph.D. I am looking forward to building relationships with students again and educating young minds. I am also looking forward to expanding the opportunities that our Early College Program can provide to our students and their futures.
What would you like your new Dryden family to know about you?
I am passionate about this school, its community, and its children. I am also the proud coach of the middle school and varsity cross country program and am excited for the growth of our team.
