Week Four Tiger Reminders
Attendance: Parents it is important that each WPS student attends school daily and arrive to school on time. The school day begins at 7:50 and all students will need to arrive to school before the 7:55 Tardy bell.
Water: Parents students are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to school as students are not allowed to drink out of water fountains.
Transportation Notes: Parents please be reminded that if you need to change afternoon transportation for your child you will need to send a written note to school with your child dated and signed with the requested change whether it is permanent, temporary or just for one day. Phone calls for transportation changes will not be accepted.
Car Rider Tags
MASK ALERT
Buses: Masks must be worn and worn correctly at all times on school buses. This is for the safety of our students, drivers, and it will help keep students in school during an event of contact tracing due to a Covid-19 exposure. Thank you for your support and efforts to help keep Martin County School's children and staff safe while on our school buses.
GRADE LEVEL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Pre-K:
- All Pre kindergarten students must have a current physical and immunization record by September 22 or your child will not be allowed to attend school until it is completed.
- This week we have been discussing I am Special, I am Me and also about Feelings. This upcoming week we will be talking about Friends. We will be working on projects together while learning about cooperation. We are also continuing to work on keeping our masks on our faces and washing our hands for 20 seconds each time.
- Thank you to all the parents for all that you do for our classrooms and having patience in the afternoon car line.
Kindergarten:
- All kindergarten students must have a current physical and immunization record by September 22 or your child will be not be allowed to attend school until it is complete.
- We are learning about our name and counting to 50. You can help us out by helping your child write their name and be able to recognize the letters in their name. Also, practice counting from 1-50.
- Please send an extra mask each day.
First Grade:
- Please make sure your child has an extra mask.
- Please send a water bottle each day.
- Make sure you are reading, studying sight words, and completing the story maps each week.
- 1st Grade Library: As students have started checking out books, they can enjoy reading them at school and home. Keep them in bookbags as they come and go, to ensure they get returned each week.
Second Grade:

Resource:
Second Grade: Please complete and return the MUSIC TIGER TROUPE newsletter information if your child would like to participate in Tiger Troupe this year. Auditions begin next week!
Library: We have begun the school year with some fun fiction titles, exploring what makes a book fiction. We have read “The Okay Book,” “Seymour Slug Goes to School,” and “The Three Questions.”
Exceptional Children:
- Please continue to send a mask with your student daily and remind them of the importance of wearing the mask properly.
- We have begun our i-Ready and mClass BOY assessments and this will continue on into next week.
- As always thank you for supporting your child in all of their school endeavors.
Student Services:
- Teachers are working hard to complete the MClass Assessment, i-Ready Diagnostic, and Kindergarten ELI (Early Learning Inventory). Please make sure your child is present at school if they are well.
- Please consider sending an extra set of clothes to school with your child. While we have some extra uniforms, our supply is limited and is reserved for emergency situations.

What an awesome third week of school! Thank you parents for working with use these first three weeks of school as we work to make sure all of our students are safe and are provided an awesome educational experience at Williamston Primary School. Thank you again for your patients as we have worked through Bus Transportation and Car Rider line issues. Please know that both areas will continue to be works in progress to ensure that both areas run efficiently and that our student are safe. Again we thank you for everything you do for Williamston Primary School and for entrusting us with your children. Tiger Pride!!!
