October Lunch Menu
School Policy on Consumable Treats
Consumable treats (cookies, doughnuts, candy, brownies etc.) are not permitted to be brought to school to share with others for birthdays or other class rewards during the school day. If you would like to purchase a snack bar ticket for each student in the class to enjoy an item from the snack bar as a birthday treat, arrangements must be made with Mrs. Gyurko, the Food Service Manager in advance. Call 440-238-4877 ext. 109.
All lunch and snack bar items served in the school have been approved by the State of Ohio and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Guidelines.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
Caught Being Great!
As we as a school community strive to be hopeful disciples of Christ, teachers and staff will be rewarding students with “Caught Being GREAT” cards when a student does something exceptional, something that is out of the ordinary and GREAT!
The goal of the program is to uplift those who are going above and beyond, but also to maintain the spontaneity of good actions, as not always will there be a tangible “reward” for doing what is GREAT. When acting in service, like Christ, we are validating the lives of others, those whom we encounter.
When a student receives the card, they will receive a special treat from Mrs. Schenek, Mrs. Francis, or Mr. Clark! All that the student has to do is bring the card to their office to have it signed and dated!
Throughout the school year, students who have earned a “Caught Being GREAT” card will be entered into drawings for various prizes and opportunities, including being eligible for our new Student of the Month award. Students will be eligible to earn the Student of the Month award if the student has a “Caught Being GREAT” card and is doing well in classes and in conduct.
We can't WAIT to see all the GREAT things our students will accomplish this year and to positively recognize our Vikings for being hopeful disciples of Christ!
ED CHOICE UPDATE
The State’s application deadline for the full Scholarship amount is quickly approaching. Please be sure you have made any necessary corrections, and completed the Income Verification application online.
The School is responsible for submitting each student’s application (that the parent completed and submitted to the School), birth certificate, proof of address (submitted by the parent), and custody information where necessary.
Parents are responsible for completing the Income Verification application online and submitting all necessary documentation.
BOTH parts of the application must be completed to receive any award.
As you receive the email from the State that they have completed your income verification, please log into your OH/ID account and screenshot your family’s household income percentage. This will allow us to begin updating your FACTS account.
Once you receive your Acceptance Form from the State, please sign and submit it to School Business Manager Patty Briggs as soon as possible. She will then email you your family’s updated Tuition & Fee Agreement. Once both of these forms are signed and returned to the School, we can officially accept your child’s EdChoice Scholarship and begin receiving the money from the State.
If your family has overpaid and is due a refund, it will be processed once the School has officially accepted your child’s EdChoice Scholarship. Parents will need to come into the Office to pick up the reimbursement check. You will receive an email once the check has been issued and is ready for pick up.
Your FACTS account will show the amount of your EdChoice Scholarship award as due June 30, 2024. Please do not panic that you are responsible for this amount, as this is what will be received incrementally from the State through the School year; paid in full by June 30, 2024.
Please call Patty Briggs with any questions at 440-238-4877.

MORNING DROP-OFF AND DISMISSAL INFORMATION
To assist the SJJ faculty and staff in making our arrival and dismissal go as quickly as possible, we ask for your help by doing the following:
At Drop-off:
- Please pull your vehicle up as far as you can at the unloading area.
- Have your children ready to exit your vehicle. Seat belts off when you reach the school building, hugs and kisses given, and backpacks ready.
- Parents please stay in the car.
- All students must exit on the passenger side of the vehicle for their safety.
- Students should exit the car on their own, but staff will happily assist where necessary.
At Dismissal:
- Please place the yellow name placard on the passenger visor and turn it outward to assist our staff in being able to read the family names.
- Please keep the placard visible until your child enters your vehicle.
- Please pull up to the open numbered loading spot. Children will come to you.
- Please do not get out of the car. If children need help to get buckled, please pull up to the front of the building to assist them.
- If the car in front of you is waiting, please go ahead and go around carefully.
- If you need a name placard or extras, please contact Mrs. Cimino in the school office.
Thank you for your help in making our arrival and dismissal process run as smoothly as possible!
