Parents and family members can send them to children, teachers can send them to students - and kids can send them to friends, teachers, and staff. The candy grams will be delivered to classrooms on Wednesday, December 20th. Fill out the tags, and we will attach them to the candy gram. If you need more order forms you can print them HERE, or on the Byrd website. Orders and payments must be returned to school no later than Friday, December 15th. No late orders can be accepted.
Holiday Shop
The BES Holiday Shop will be open for student shopping from December 4th -13th. An adult volunteer will help students make purchases. Help is needed to make this opportunity possible! Please return the form (sent home with students) if you are able to help. Students brought home envelopes for shopping money and a flyer with more information on Friday (or it will come home early this week). The shop is open from 9:30-1 Monday through Friday.

Notes from the School Nurse
WINTER WELLNESS TIPS:
Eat healthy food, exercise, rest, and wash our hands! Students should not be in school if they have the following:
- A fever of 100.4 degrees or greater
- Vomiting or diarrhea because of illness
- An unknown rash or possible contagious condition
- Are unable to focus due to: pain, chronic health condition and acute illness
- Flu-like illness (with or without fever) – headache, fatigue, cough, aches, weakness and sore throat
- COVID positive result- student should remain home for 5 days from first symptom (recommended masking for 5 additional days upon return to school)
Additional Tips
- Hand washing with soap and water is a better choice than alcohol based sanitizers when available, especially for stomach related illnesses.
- Wash coats and book bags often.
Return to School
- A child should be free of symptoms of contagious disease (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, suspicious rash, etc.) for 24 hours without the using of fever reducing medication before returning to school.
- Please be prompt when picking up your ill or injured child in order to minimize his or her chance of spreading or acquiring a contagious illness.
Contact Nurse Britton to report any diagnosis
your child receives, questions or concerns.

Please notify the office about transportation changes via email at: beseagles@glnd.k12.va.us.
If you have daily transportation needs, please make sure you provide changes at the beginning of each week for the entire week. This allows staff time to communicate all necessary changes and avoids confusion when a call is not received. We appreciate your support.
Parents who wish to chaperone a field trip or volunteer regularly in our school must submit to a background check every 2 years using the BIB portal. The process is completely electronic. If you are having problems with the system, contact Demetra Harris at dharris@glnd.k12.va.us.
