6/1/22 - V Softball @ Carrollton - Game 1: W (11-0) The Huskies were led by Cayla Konop on the mound who didn't allow a single run throwing a complete game shutout. Konop struck out 11 hitters. The team collected 10 hits. Leading hitters were Cayla Konop going 3/3 including 2 doubles & 1 RBI, Lilly Martinez going 2/3 including a double & 2 RBI's, Averi Hall with 1 double and 2 RBI's. Corinna Gomez, Kate Noyes (1 RBI), Lilly Spillane, and Kassie Hensler (1 RBI) each contributed solid hits at the plate as well. Game 2: W (17-2) The lady Huskies secured their final conference victory thanks to 13 runs in the first inning. Cayla Konop threw four innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out 7 hitters.
The Huskies collected 16 hits in the game!

6/4/22 - V Track & Field @ State Final - Four members of the Hemlock girls’ track and field team (junior Regan Finkbeiner, senior Reagan Keyser, and freshmen Izzy Krueger and Klaira Salo) competed at the Division 3 Track and Field State Finals on Saturday, June 4 at Kent City. In the 400 meter relay, the girls placed 13th with a time of 54.54 seconds. In the 800 meter relay, they finished in 15th place with a time of 1:52.13. Regan Finkbeiner competed in the 100 meter dash, finishing in 15th with a time of 13.16.
For the boys’ team, in the 100 meter dash, senior Robert Knapik closed out his brilliant track and field career finishing 19th in 11.60 while junior Dennis Schaffer finished 18th in 11.58 Knapik also finished in 15th in the 200 meters running 23.44. Sophomore, Mathew Johnston just missed earning All-State honors, finishing in 9th place in the 300 hurdles with a time of 43.20.
We wish the best of luck to Robert Knapik, who will continue his track and field sprinting career at Northwood University, where he will also play football and to Reagan Keyser, who will continue her track and field career at Alma College in the long jump and sprints. All others return to the Huskie track and field program next spring.
6/4/22 - V Baseball District Semifinal vs. New Lothrop - W (3-2) Jake Shelagowski pitched 6 innings striking out 9 batters. He gave up 2 runs on 2 hits to get the Win. Max Dinninger came on in relief to get the Save. Jake Shelagowski had a single and a triple and a run batted in & Bryce Murphy had two hits and one run.
6/4/22 - V Baseball District Final vs. Chesaning - W (2-1) Max Dinninger pitched a complete game to secure the District Championship for the second year in a row. He pitched 7 innings giving up 4 hits and one earned run. Corbin Larkin had 2 hits and 2 stolen bases, Caiden Larkin had two hits, Bryce Murphy had 1 hit and 1 run, Carter Gensch had 1 hit and 1 run & Shane Renas had 1 hit and 1 run batted in.
6/4/22 - V Softball District vs. Pinconning - L (3-11) Hemlock's Lady Huskies season may have ended short but not without outhitting Pinconning. Multiple hits came from Lilly Martinez 4-4 including a double, 3 singles, and 2 stolen bases, Averi Hall collected two hits including a triple and a single. Kate Noyes, Lilly Spillane, and Ryleigh Sullivan (1RBI) each added 1 single a piece. Despite the loss Cayla Konop struck out 6 hitters.
6/3/22 - V Golf @ Regional - The team overall placed 5th, just two spots away from qualifying for the state final. But we did have an individual qualify - Carson Countegan. He moves on to the state final at The Fortress in Frankenmuth. Good luck Carson!
6/3/22 - V Tennis @ State Final - Sophia Hauffe won her first match 6-1, 6-1 and then lost her second match.
