Three to Try
Nearpod
Nearpod is an interactive presentation tool. Design presentations that appear directly on student devices. Add in polls, quizzes, drawings and more! Read my blog post on how I used this tool to teach 8th graders about plagiarism.
BridgeURL
Need a quick way to bundle a series of websites to send to students all at once? BridgeURL does just that! If you sign up for a free account it will also keep track of your lists.
Exploring by the Seat of Your Pants
http://www.exploringbytheseat.com is a website that has a focus on science, adventure and conservation. They conduct Google Hangouts for free with people around the world. Classrooms are invited to join in! Archived recordings are located here.
Potential Project (Follow Up)
Kudos to Ms. Dul, @Room206rocks, @lbertucci3, and @lamassier for their adorable (and informational) QR code student goals! Each teacher had students write new year goals which were recorded and displayed for parents during open house. They were a hit! Read about them here.
Twitter Tip!
Participate in a math challenge! The Global Math Task Twitter Challenge is a great way to meet classrooms from around the world and sneak in a little math at the same time! You can sign up to "host" a week (you and your students post a math question at your grade level each day and others around the world answer it) or simply participate! Visit their blog to find out more!
