Happy New Year - February 1, 2024
Hello Huntley Hill Tigers
Huntley Hills Elementary & Montessori School 2023-2024 School Year
Hello Faculty, staff, students and parents. We are off to a great 2024! We are back in the classrooms providing social/emotional lessons for our students, that are conducive to the needs of our students in the school environment and life beyond the classroom. Your counselors will be adding an assessment piece to our lessons and I will share more information soon with our teachers.
We have a few events coming soon! On Valentine's Day our Student Council will make sure all of our students feel the love and warmth of our school with a scavenger hunt and decorated tables/treats in the cafeteria. Our Student Council will be hosting our Valentine's Dance on February 15 @ 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. Let's put on our party wear and parents will need to be in attendance with students. Parents if you would like to volunteer please sign up on the link below.
I'm looking for Parents to provide snacks that we will sell and I need two chaperones in thirty minutes increments. If you have difficulties with the sign in sheet just email Sonya Nelson.

Before we know it, the end of the school year will be here soon. Our 5th graders will be transitioning to middle school and we have and will continue to prepare them for that journey. I would love for parents/students volunteers who have had the experience of transitioning to middle school, come and speak to our 5th grade parents/students on Transition to Middle School Night, March 7th at 6:00 pm. Please email Ms. Nelson if you are interested, your support will be greatly appreciated.
Our Mentor Program is going strong. My Brother's Keeper and My Sister's Keeper programs are in full effect. My Sister's Keeper will be going on a field trip to Spellman College on March 19th. We are still searching for a field trip for MBK members this semester. The Flagarettes have a couple of performances coming soon. Black History Month is around the corner and we will celebrate Black History Month the Huntley Hills Way. Our Backpack Buddy is truly successful and we want to thank Chamblee First United Methodist Church for their support.
Attendance letters went out on 1/31/24. Please make sure all students be present and on-time everyday. It is so important that our students are here in classrooms learning instructional material, enjoying specials and being in a environment where we have there best interest at heart.
Our counseling objective is to provide a nurturing environment where our students can feel safe, have a place to come for comfort, be a listening ear and provide the tools and resources needed to excel in the school environment. We will run as one at HH and we will continue the Dekalb way, Disrupting For Excellence, Excellence for All.
