Saturday May 20th is our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Byam Walkathon! More details in the BSA section of this newsletter. This event is always one of Byam's biggest community events. We hope you can join us.

May is mental health awareness month. We would like to take a moment to remind our families, when in need of a mental health referral help, Care Solace is a very useful local referral resource available to all Chelmsford families.

It is hard to believe we are holding events for next year already. On Thursday, May 11 at 6:00 pm we will be welcoming our incoming kindergarten families for an informational evening about Byam Byam and the kindergarten program. This evening will be followed by kindergarten screenings in late May.

Drum Roll...the winner of April's Dynamite Diners is Kindergarten! Congratulations to our Byam Kindergarteners for earning this special reward. Mr. Fredette and Mrs. Dolan informed students during lunch this week and they voted for....extra recess time!

The Parker PTO is very excited to be hosting our annual Parker Pride Run, for a community-building event/fundraiser on Sunday, May 21st @ 9:00 a.m. This is a fun 2 mile walk/run open to all. Prizes will be awarded for 1st-3rd place for grade levels as well as adults. Don't miss the fun! All participants that pre-register will receive a race t-shirt. Pre-Registration Deadline: Friday, April 28th. The first 25 pre-registrants get a free pair of Goodr sunglasses! The Town of Chelmsford has recently launched a new transportation program for those without transport to medical appointments and other needs. Youtube information below and Chelmsford Rides flyer attached below with more information.

Still looking for the perfect book? You're in luck! The online book fair has been extended until May 9th! Thank you to all the families who donated items to the spring teacher restock! We sorted and delivered all of the donated items to the classrooms this week, and the teachers were all so appreciative!!

Rain or Shine, the walk-a-thon is the BSA's highest grossing fundraiser, going directly towards enrichment to the student's curriculum. Is your child not a walker? No big deal! We have plenty of other things to do at the event including a DJ dance party, facepainting, and an inflatable maze!! This is a very relaxed event, and you can stop by anytime between 10:00-2:00pm!

We are humbly asking parents to consider volunteering for one small task each year. If your child is attending an event, please keep an eye out for future sign-up forms. Many responsible students can also help with parent supervision! In addition to event volunteers, here are a few larger roles we are looking to fill. We will teach you the ropes and "ease" you in.
