BAND NOTES - December 2024
December 5th is our Winter Band Concert in the LHS auditorium -
6th grade @ 6:30pm (students should arrive through the front doors at 6:10pm)
7th/8th grade @ 7:15pm (students should arrive through the front doors at 6:55pm)
Concert dress is concert black from head to toe. Students can wear their PHMS Music shirt on top if they have one, if not a nice black shirt will do. Nice black pants and black shoes are also requested.
Students are encouraged to stay for the other bands’ performances. We just ask that students sit with their families when they are not performing.
Concert Attire
The Concert Attire for all of our performances is all black. Students should wear their PHMS music shirt or a black top with no logos/printing. Black bottoms and black shoes as well. Please start the process of looking for these items now before it’s too late.
Middle School All-State Jazz Band Auditions
Similar to All State Band, audition materials for All State Jazz Band are now available here. Those selected will be part of an event that takes place January 31st-February 1st at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center. The audition deadline is December 19th, 2024.
Private Tutor List
Private lessons outside of school are highly recommended. For students who struggle, it is helpful for them to catch up and better understand their instrument. For students who need a challenge, a private teacher is the best way to push them forward and help with audition material for Middle School All State Band. If you are interested in private lessons, here is a list of reputable teachers in the area.

Gift ideas for your students
Here are some gift ideas for your band students. These are small ideas, but if you are looking for something more substantial (a new instrument!) let us know and we can make some recommendations for you.
