Hello Families,

We had a successful ALICE drill on Tuesday. Thank you to CPD, CFD and our staff for their dedication to this important drill.

As a reminder, Movie Night is tonight! We will not have school on Election Day (11/8) or Veterans Day (11/11).

Our Kind Act for November will be Veterans Day writing to honor our Veterans who have sacrificed for our country. Thank you to all those who donated coats for our kind act in October. We received a total of 54 coats. They will be donated to those in need in our community. Your generosity is much appreciated.

As a reminder, there will be no school on November 8th for teacher professional development and November 11th for Veterans Day.

The final count is in for our Fall Reading Challenge. Grade 3 came in strong at the end to win the competition! As a school, our students read just under 47,000 minutes.

Parent Conferences: Parent conferences are coming up. Your child's teacher will be in touch to schedule. These conferences are valuable and will provide you with important updates on your child's progress. As a staff, we value this time and the opportunity to keep an open line of communication. Please be on the lookout for information from your child's teacher.

Holiday Season Approaching: The Holiday season is fast approaching. If your family is in need of support, do not hesitate to reach out to a support team member (Mrs. Gilbert, Mr. Ramalho, Nurse Vandevoordt, Dr. Brogan, Mr. Liechty, or Ms. Katie).

Weather: The fall is upon us, and although the weather has been mild it is important that your child dresses for the season.

School Pictures: Please be on the lookout for school photographs in the mail next week from Geskus if you ordered a package. If you did not order yet, please watch for an email as you will be given another opportunity to purchase along with a proof of the picture. If you are not satisfied with your package, you student has the opportunity to be re-photographed on Tuesday, November 29th in the morning at South Row from 9:00am-10:30am. PLEASE BE SURE TO SEND BACK YOUR ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS IF YOU ARE ASKING FOR A RETAKE. If your child missed our picture day in October, they will be sent down to be photographed on this day as well. If you have any questions, contact Geskus at 1-800-948-1120.

Fall viruses are here and in full effect. Please view the chart below that you might find helpful. If your student is sick with fever, cough, sore throat, or nasal congestion, I recommend a home covid test and calling their pediatrician to check in.

One of our easiest year round fundraisers is Amazon Smile. In the quick video below, PTO treasurers Kate and Maureen explain how families would set-up Amazon Smile to help raise funds for the school. Once set up, Amazon will send a percentage of the qualifying items you purchased to the charity you chose automatically. There is no need for a separate account, just shop like you always do and your selected charity will receive the donation from Amazon. We hope you’ll pick us!

We hope you will attend our next meeting on Monday November 14th at 7pm in the cafeteria. We'll have snacks, hear from the 2nd grade teaching team in our staff spotlight, admin, and school board updates, budget updates and vote on spending PTO funds. We will also be discussing the Winter Activity/Craft AND we'll have a volunteer opportunity to package teacher appreciation gifts after the formal business is done. We hope to see many of you there.

Thank you to all who made purchases during our Spirit Wear Fundraiser. The PTO receives a small percentage of money from each item you purchase. Orders have been submitted and we expect them to be filled prior to the winter holiday break. We will communicate more information regarding the item arrival timeline as it becomes available.
