The Knight Times
Weekly Newsletter for TDHS Faculty and Staff
Volume 1, Issue 1 (Week of August 13th)
Principal's Message
Welcome to our weekly staff newsletter, The Knight Times! I am excited and thrilled to present the first issue. Ta-Dah!!! The Knight Times will be one of our key communication devices in our plan to share information throughout the entire faculty. I believe that effective communication is a critical component to a high-quality organization, and it is my intention to remain focused on clear, consistent, and open communication. Our weekly newsletter will serve as the hub for information. My expectation is that you will stay informed by reading The Knight Times and will share relevant information with the faculty and staff through The Knight Times.
The use of faculty meetings to share information will be limited; this will be a time for celebration, appreciation, recognition, building community, and professional development. The use of "All Staff" emails will also be limited, so as to keep your email inbox as clear as possible and to ensure direct communication with relevant personnel. We will also share leadership throughout the organization with several leadership structures to ensure communication is a two-way process that also provides multiple avenues for input with decision-making and commitment to a shared vision and understanding. For example, the Instructional Leadership Team, Principal's Advisory Council, Student Advisory Council, and Culture by Design Team are just a few of our leadership groups who will share the responsibility of leading Thomas Dale forward.
Please enjoy this first issue of The Knight Times. It is my intention for the newsletter to go out each Friday for the rest of the school year. Although I cannot promise I will publish each Friday, I ensure you each issue will go out before Monday.
Every Knight.
Every Day.
No matter what.
Let's DO this!
I Make A Difference
The first recipient of the I Make A Difference award is someone who definitely exceeds expectations. He works tirelessly to ensure our clubs, activities, and sports teams have exactly what they need to be successful. He organizes events, maintains an organized calendar, works with community members, coordinates field trips and transportation, takes staff members on a tour of Chester, and even cuts the grass! This person in many ways is the glue holding our family together. Steve Davies, YOU make a difference!
Kudos
Just to refresh your memory, HERE is the last set of KUDOS from the 2017-2018 school year. Enjoy!
